A good day all in all, the green weren't in bad condition given the time of year, unfortunately the rain and wind we horrendous and there were leaves everywhere - including the fairway on some holes. Bar staff friendly.

Golfshake Team ReviewI have played this course 4 times in the last couple of months and it has been in excellent condition every time. The staff in the pro shop were very accommodating and the club has a nice feel to it. The course has some lovely holes on it, particularly the long par 3 13th and the par 5 18th.

have played here a few times in the past and again on Saturday so decided to write a review. \I had a 12am tee time on Saturday but my partner was late. I spoke to the pro-shop and they told me it would not be a problem, when he turned up they would fit us in. So I went to the practice area which consists of large putting green, a large bunker, 2 greens and surrounds for chipping and pitching and 2 nets. \My playing partner turned up and we paid £20 each using a greenfree voucher from the April issue of GM (Thanks GM). It normally £40 at weekends up to 3pm when twilight kicks in (£20)\Course was in very good condition with the only slight complaint that the greens were very firm and lighting quick and had sand on them recently. \Course has plenty of danger off the tee with ditches and bunkers coming into play around the 200-240 yard mark on the par 4 & 5’s. Some nice par 3’s over water and one that is 225 off the yellows and 240 off the back tees to a large but guarded green. The 18th is a par 5 with water all down the right and a ditch thrown in for good measure. \There is a good variation of holes from uphill par 5 to a blind dog leg left with tee shot down hill.\In warmer weather they have a cart going around the course with drinks, sandwiches & chocolate. \The round took us 3hrs 45min which was great for a sunny Sat afternoon. We caught up with a 4ball who tee’d off on the 6th hole but let us play through so no problems there\I don’t think it is worth £40 at weekends but they are happy to take vouchers 7 days a week and do some good breaks too. \I inquired about membership which I thought was reasonable. £750 a year with no joining fee or £67 a month for DD for a 7 day membership with discounts in the bar, pro shop and hotel breaks. \They also do a book of 10 greenfees for £120 which is fantastic value. \I will defiantly play it again over the coming months and would recommend it to any of you that live in the area. \

Great day out

Played here for the first time on Friday May 14th and what a pleasure it was. Great condition, not too challenging after so many months in lockdown, and a layout that makes you think about shots and layup. \Easy to book on line, reasonably priced and the added bonus, for us, of a Spitfire form Duxford giving an impromptu air show.\Will definitely be back once the lockdown restrictions are over.

Well worth a look.

First time I’ve played here. £25 quid on golf now after midday. I thought we’d have traffic noise for the first four holes as it goes out alongside the A14 but it wasn’t that noticeable. That new silent tarmac does the business. Course is great fun ,regular par 72 4 par 3s 4 par 5s and the rest are par 4. Some streams meandering across the fairways to make you think off the tee, along with some well placed bunkers. Well placed for my drives anyway. Plenty of sand in those bunkers too. Greens were immaculate but the main defence is the bunkers around them rather than the greens themselves. If you find the green, you have a good chance of holing it. Didn’t feel long but I imagine on a windy day those par 4s that are over 400 yds would soon become very long. 15th 16th and 18Th were great and the par 3s were great too. Give it a go, I know I’ll be back. No bar, changing or toilet facilities available owing to Covid which seemed a little unneccessary.

First time on this course, which runs alongside the A14 near Cambridge.
Easy access from the main road, but that means a steady hum of traffic noise on the first few holes.
I had been put off playing here by some reviewers stating that the course has too many long, straight, boring holes. We didn’t find it to be boring at all.
Excellent welcome from the guy in the pro shop, who checked if it was our first time there and then showed us to the first tee and pointed out the all-important route to the bar for post-round refreshments.
Excellent value, 18 holes for £10 each as visitors, which I believe was a cheaper rate due to our start time of 12:30.
The greens were true, and considering this was the first day of March we were pleased to find only a couple of squidgy spots on fairways where the wind hadn’t quite dried them out.
Very pleasant afternoon, and we will be back.

Have played this coarse on four previous occasions over the past five years and it is now by far in the best condition I have known. Greens had been sanded but were still held and rolled true. Long wait for food at the bar was a shame. 30-40 minutes for an uncooked sandwich because there were other functions going on in the hotel.

There is nothing I can offer or suggest to improve the condition of this course at the moment following play it this week. The tee boxes, fairways, various rough cuts and greens were in superb condition. The hazards are spot on in terms on their position for the normal club golfer. A throughly enjoyable round.

Golfshake Team ReviewConsidering that this was the only course in the local area that has been open on full greens (bar 1) it held up ok.

The greens in general were poor. Littered with pitchmarks and bobbly.
The fairways were long and no roll.

I didnt go into the bunkers but by the looks of things they wernt too bad.

Nice variaty of holes. Including a 220 yard par 3.

For £25 Im not sure if I would rush back.
