Do NOT play this course at this time of year

With a very poor pace of play (6 hour round), it was hard to enjoy the course and the golf itself. The course was however in very poor condition so there wasn't much to enjoy. Rough was unplayable as well as well as the bunkers. The course is definitely going to suffer in this time of the year, however in summer it may be in a fair condition.

Shockingly bad pace of play, just a money making machine!

I played at Allerton recently, and to be totally honest was appalled from the dreadful, dreadful DREADFUL pace of play. Considering the length of the course I cannot comprehend how players can achieve the feat of taking half an hour to complete a hole and why the club are not doing anything about it. They seem to address the issues of the restaurant more, I think it is just a money making machine now.

Shockingly poor pace of play

Pace of play was awful absolutely dreadful. Will not be returning. However I can applaud its tremendous hospitality and staff, this is not what contributes to the attributes of the course.

Slowest round I have played in my life. No exaggeration. A shame because the course seemed nice. But walking off the 18th after 6 hours is unacceptable. The staff didn\'t take kindly to my comments about the pace of play. Summary : course way overplayed. Owners are just after the money. Shame because has a nice layout.

\Played on a weekend. Saturday at 2.41 pm. The round ended up being 5 and a half hours long and I was appalled. I walked off the 18th at 8pm. By this time if was dark. Course was in average condition, greenkeepers are doing a fair job considering how overplayed it is. I was treated poorly by the restaurant staff however the club pro was a very nice young chap. Would only recommend if you don\\\\\\\'t care about the golf (more just for the food).

Average course especially since it has being getting changed. Tees and greens below average. Fairways not good. If you have mobility issues not the place to play even though they do have buggies as the green keeper rarely lets these out for reasons only known to him. Very unfriendly to players with mobility problems all fuelled by one man;

Testing shortish ,5191 yellow tees, course with some tricky holes.The day was spoiled because a society was playing ahead of us and the round took just shy of 5 hours..9th hole par 3 had 3 groups waiting to play.I would play again only if less busy or better guidance on timing given at various holes..every shot was a waitwhich spoiled it.

First impressions are great when you arrive but once you get to the 1st tee they go downhill rapidly. Queues from the first tee box throughout the round. At one point we had 4 groups waiting on the 9th tee. Play was so slow, had a wait on every tee box, sometime with two groups in front of us. Tee boxes are a bit of a mess, nowhere really level. With the fairways being so tight we would have other golfers on our fairways for the majority of the round.\Plenty better courses around for less £

Greens very poor

Played at Allerton the past 3 years, the course seems to be get worst each time I play. Played 22nd April 2022 not 1 good green on the whole round very port condition. Other courses near by charge the same and are in far better condition. Played early morning at 8am, didn’t see one green keeper or anyone cutting and fairways etc.

We arrived at 8 o\'clock for our 8 30 tee time. The 1st tee was jam packed with a society of around 10 x 4 balls. We had to argue our way to nearer the front of the queue. We eventually managed tontee off at 8 55. Absolute joke the way the booking system operates at this course. The course itself is very good with some nice holes but we were held up all the way round so it takes a bit of the gloss off the day when a full 18 holes takes 3 people nearly 6 hours to complete ????

Short but sweet

Short course, although playing off winter tee's, so easy to reach the greens if hitting straight. Decent condition seeing we have had a lot of rain the past week. I think the course would have the better feel to it in dryer months.

Played 9th August with my son he lives in Ireland he said courses are far superior and reasonably priced over there. Greens and tee boxes are in need of attention l know the course is very busy which is why the course has not got time to repair itself. Bunkers not raked l won’t be back in a hurry it’s not worth the money
