Scruffy

Course in poor condition, played here numerous times over the years. Easily the worst I have seen it. Lacks care in my opinion

course was very wet after several days of rain with lots of water on greens and course

After a gap of several years I revisited. This is a nice course, but expensive for what it is (the prices on this website are not up to date). The course has been made easier by cutting out lots of rough, I guess to speed up Society play. The smell from the adjacent sewage settling tanks is not pleasant
The Clubhouse is very good, but only one cask ale available, and that was not well kept.
I think that this place is worth visiting, but not often and then only on a 2 fore 1 deal.

The course was in good condition but only half about half
of the bunkers were in play .
It's a shame that they have turned the 12th hole from a
par 4 to a par 5 ! Hit a driver then a wedge to the green for
an eagle putt ?no way a par 5 ?

Thank you for your feedback Danny, we are nearly finished with our bunker repair work and hope you will be able to experience our improved course soon. The change to a par 5 was made recently after lengthy discussions with our committee.

Poor Condition

I used to be a member here, sadly the course is in poor condition, greens are poor, tee boxes also, areas around the tee boxes and greens have no grass. On top of all that the lady at the bar was miserable and scowled at people!

If you are tinnking of joinis this golfclub think long and hard,I have been a member for many years on Monday 24th Febuary I got up early as i was due to play that day, I showered & Made a cup of coffee ready to leave @ aproxamitly 7.25 am i received an email telling me that the corse was closed, the green keepers stast early each day they make the dicisionif the course is open or not? why could they not let us know by 7am just wasted our time again, on Tuesday again up early same thing got ready to play again 7.25ish corse closed again on wensday received an email informing us Course open, on Thursday 27th up again my wife looked on the club web site course open so got readey yet again 7.30 email from club course closed again, why this company canot inform its membars By 7am in the morning i do not know, if any other company treated thrire customers in this way they would be out of buisnes in no time but as they have our green fees yearly they show atotal disregard to there members..I am due to play on Friday. I have to gaet up at 6am to book for two weeks time then up at 7am not knowig if the course is open or closed.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for your feedback, we do make the upmost effort to inform our members as quickly as we can with the course status being updated online and the members being sent an email. The pro shop is also now moving to an earlier opening time now that we have more daylight so they will be able to update the website earlier in the day. We do try our best to keep our members in the loop and pass the information through the necessary chains as quickly as we can.

Good course

Aldwickbury is a good golf club and course. Some of the roping off in winter is a little extreme and some bunkers gur need to be made good quickly. Need to improve cleaning area at end of course.

Certainly the value is good & fairways are fine & greens are challenging. There are some interesting holes too & the greens could be hard to read. Yet I didn’t enjoy it as much as I’d expected. The course was surprisingly busy for mid week mid afternoon & there were some bullish characters & the place just didn’t seem relaxed or as friendly as many others. We didn’t stay for drinks consequently . That said it deserves another chance at another time

Hi Pete, Thank you for your great feedback on the course, we are pleased it provided you a challenge! We do have golf societies here which we usually restrict to later tee times so as to protect the more preferential tee times for our members and visitors, so sorry you ended up with a busy afternoon! Please do book to play us again as mid week is usually more quite.
