Played Surrey National today, hcp 23.2 and scored 110. Extreme windy conditions, made it very challenging. The course was playable, despite the recent weather conditions and rain the night before.
I was told it was undulating and I read the reviews on GS, which also stated the course was very undulating. I regard myself as being very fit and I thought today, especially with the wind was tough. The hills on some of the holes were just unbelievable, so glad I had a trolley.
The course is quite wide and the bunker placements make some of the holes really challenging. A little disappointing to find stones and rocks in quite a few of the bunkers. Also disappointed to find that all of the holes lacked a map of the hole on the tee box, not friendly to those who haven't played the course before. But something that I would assume as standard for a golf course.
There are some really nice holes, the 2nd which is a par 3, the 7th and 13th par 3's, the par 5 12th and the 18th par 5.
I'm sure this would be a good course to play in the summer, it's a challenge in the winter, but I have played better courses.

Some excellent holes in what otherwise could be basic layout. Tricky narrow and sloping fairways and tough greens on front 9. Good condition for time of year. Enjoyable before the rain came!

Course good for time of year. A hard walk but buggy used. Had to keep to path which didn't save much time. Went with groupon voucher so good value.

Good course with lots of undulations, very rarely a flat position to ay from. The greens were true but very quick and lots of movement in them. A good course and a physical challenge if you're walking!
