What the club says: Surrey National Golf Club covers in excess of 200 acres and the course is set in two dramatic valleys which merge at the northern end of the course offering superb views over the local countryside. Carefully positioned bunkers, raised tees, tree lined fairways and two teasingly placed lakes mean a good test of a golfers repertoire is required.

This course is in great condition and always a good challenge. Greens a little bumpy perhaps but otherwise thoroughly enjoyable.

No trolleys but not really wet
Good course, similar to the PGA at the Belfry. Greens good but a touch slow but what do you expect after the rains. Tees ok bunkers a little indifferent. A variety of sands and coverage. Layout good and fair.

As always a very good course to play all year round. Great condition even after alot of rain. Nice course design and some tricky holes. Great practice facilities. food was about poor this time, not much filling in the rolls.

Good, challenging course
Played on a February day after a few days of rain. There was a trolley ban in place but course itself in good condition for the time of year. Greens particularly good. It's a challenging course with sloping fairways, quite long and greens well defended by contours and bunkers. There is no map of the holes on the card or on the tees, so it's quite hard to play for the first time (the extent of the water on the 5th hole was a nasty surprise as not visible from the fairway and both of us hit balls straight into it). Also more yardage markers would be appreciated. Overall enjoyed the round, even if I didn't play very well.

Lovely course with classic holes
Surrey National GC is one of the highlights of the Altonwood Group's course - somewhat hidden away but easily accessible by car and PT in Caterham.

After playing this course in both Winter and Summer - it favours, as do many, confident play from the tee box as missing the fairway is likely to cost you a shot or two.

Greens are always fair to firm and kept in great condition all year round. Signature holes include hitting over water on the Par 3, 3rd which doubles back on the birdie friendly par 5 6th and then the big finish on the 18th in front of your adoring fans in the clubhouse.

I recommend highly for the common club golfer who wants a bit of a challenge at a pretty course.
