What the club says: We boast a beautiful and mature golf course offering a fine challenge to golfers at all levels. Panoramic views, overlooking the North Downs and Weald, create a perfect back drop for a layout which has made best use of the interesting and undulating topography. A variety of mixed and mature trees, including many fine oaks, provide essential course definition and a mature stream creates several interesting water features ensuring that every hole provides a very different challenge. Constructed on rich sandy loam the course is playable all year round.

Swamp
I think the club's claim of best draining in the area needs to be fact-checked. Unless, of course, "the area" refers to the immediate area of the course. It's an absolute shambles with every tee bar the 18th being off mats. Completely unacceptable for £50 a round, it's a mud bath. Bring your wellies!Reviewer Rating

Far too muddy
They describe the course as the best draining in the area. Absolutely not so and played recently and it was a mud bath. Arguable if it should even have been open. Dangerous and slippery. Guess it’s best played in the summer. also need to move tee mats positioned behind trees !Reviewer Rating

Very nice course great condition could do with better signage to next holes, if you let left or right the trees are not forgiving but otherwise great courseReviewer Rating

The tees, fairways and greens were all in really great condition when I played it today, although the bunkers don't have a lot of sand in them (probably the one fault I can think of).
It certainly isn't an easy course, and if the bunkers, ponds and trees don't get you, some of the holes are fairly lengthy too. It's certainly worth playing though.

There a few sharp doglegs left and right, for those capable can over the trees to get birdies. We did enjoy playing for the first and one that we would go back too in the summer. Club house is welcoming and a good chef but a small Pro-shop with just the basics. The buggies need updating as they are petrol and the fuel dials were not working, so you must check with the guy before taking it out that he has topped it up. Staff all very friendly and welcoming.

Not draining as well as it used to do
All off mats except last hole. Lots of sticky earth picked up on the wheels of the trolley and on the base of your shoes. Green had been tinned recently and so a few bobles expected but not the amount of mud!! Bunkers had very little sand. Greens were of varying speed but I can see that the work being done now will benefit the course in the later Summer season.(Round played: Feb 2022 - Score: 96 Handicap: 16.3)
