What the club says: We boast a beautiful and mature golf course offering a fine challenge to golfers at all levels. Panoramic views, overlooking the North Downs and Weald, create a perfect back drop for a layout which has made best use of the interesting and undulating topography. A variety of mixed and mature trees, including many fine oaks, provide essential course definition and a mature stream creates several interesting water features ensuring that every hole provides a very different challenge. Constructed on rich sandy loam the course is playable all year round.

This was my first time at Bletchingley and it really is a wonderful course in terms of its presentation and layout. All the holes are individual and have their own character with the par 3's being particularly impressive. My friends and I are returning to play again next week as there are some unexpected hazards that I know more about now!

Not in good nick but greens weree OK

Very brown on tees, where there was lumps of grass, and on fairways which were brown. Greens looked lush and fairly slow for this time of year but there was no give.

Decent course let down by greens

Good looking course, tree lined, a bit of water, good variation of holes. Up hills, down hills, doglegs, long and short par 3's. Hilly in places and a few long'ish walks between holes. Very good practice facilities, driving range chipping area and practice greens. Clubhouse with terrace and balcony area is well presented. Fairways had not fully recovered from the winter but playable, however, the greens were bumpy, patchy, unrolled and at least 6 greens had several bad markings which looked like horseshoes had trampled over them.

Very much like the handicap system. It all depends on what time of year you are playing. In the drier months the course is a very good challenging course, where you have to plot your way round. In the wetter months, it becomes a bit of a slog for the recreational golfer, especially if you are carrying. However, the clubhouse and staff make up for it with a very warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Course very muddy. Had to clean ball on every shot. Greens ok some are a bit scabby. Pace of play was very good but few people on the course probably due to the weather. Prices for a round change frequently and there are deals on golf now. £7 for a pint of guiness is extortionate!

Played here as part of The Social Golfer annual comp, my first ever comp. Great day though very hot, and as its a longer course I was knackered at the end. As a high HCP player it was challenging enough for me, due to the heat I was tires for the last 4 holes which are up hill and down dale. Nice little shop good bar and halfway house. Will go back and play again without a doubt.

Been some time - Still tricky

Overnight rain made conditions interesting especially as it drizzled as we played the closing 4 holes. Course was in relatively good nick but it was that kind of gmae when the grass was patchy but damp and there was no eveness on the fairways. Green were ok but a few too many geese droppings or casts (only to be expected after rain) Nemesis tee shot got me again. 16th played a 3wood for safety...went up and lost!

Slowest Round of Golf ever

Played on a Sunday, booked a tee time for 1.06. Because of the backlog already on the course we didn't tee off until 1.25. We then proceeded to wait on every single shot, often times waiting with the group ahead on the next tee box. Couldn't blame them, they were right behind the group ahead of them too. All said and done a 5 and a bit hour round, not a marshal in sight to try help things along, very disappointing.

Course itself is challenging, there's a lot of hills, sloping fairways, hazards and trees. There are a few nice holes, but also several slightly confusing ones that can punish you if you haven't played the course before and know where to hit. Also a lot of blind shots, which personally really dislike.

Greens had been recently treated but were still running pretty true, bunkers in good nick. Holes on the greens looked like they had been cut by a 5 year old with safety scissors, edges an absolute mess.
