Swamp
I think the club's claim of best draining in the area needs to be fact-checked. Unless, of course, "the area" refers to the immediate area of the course. It's an absolute shambles with every tee bar the 18th being off mats. Completely unacceptable for £50 a round, it's a mud bath. Bring your wellies!Reviewer Rating

Far too muddy
They describe the course as the best draining in the area. Absolutely not so and played recently and it was a mud bath. Arguable if it should even have been open. Dangerous and slippery. Guess it’s best played in the summer. also need to move tee mats positioned behind trees !Reviewer Rating

Dismal. Very poor value in the winter.
The course was in pretty dire condition. Absolutely no drainage, leaving standing water and a muddy, chopped up course.Though the option to place the ball on a better lie was appealing, the application of winter rules was impractical given there was so little grass to be found.
All in, I paid 40 odd quid to roll around in the mud and narrowly miss getting hit by the crossfire of slices, ricocheting around this torrid ww1 battlefield imitation of a golf course.

Poor condition made the course almost unplayable
The course was in extremely poor condition when I played it. It was playing very firm, meaning that even 10 yards off the fairway would result in being in the trees. This coupled with burnt greens made the course almost unplayable. As other reviews have mentioned, the white socks rule seems ridiculous, even more so when you look at the quality of the club,
Much better value courses around than this (£35 on a Sunday afternoon).

Great par 3s but poor course
Par 3s were great. I was disappointed with the condition of the course for this time of year. Tee boxes were dreadful, almost like playing out of the first cut. Greens rolled well and true. Shame as could be a good course with a bit more love.Reviewer Rating

Always disappoints
Whenever I play Bletchingly I always leave disappointed, but never really sure why. Today greens were in poor condition, and for a course claiming to be ?No 1 draining course in the area? why so many tees not being used. Surrey National nearby has no mats. There are many other courses close by that are much better quality.

Mud
Very muddy. Poor fairways in between the muddy patches. It claims to be the no.1 draining course in the area. Wouldn't like to play any other one!Reviewer Rating

Slowest Round of Golf ever
Played on a Sunday, booked a tee time for 1.06. Because of the backlog already on the course we didn't tee off until 1.25. We then proceeded to wait on every single shot, often times waiting with the group ahead on the next tee box. Couldn't blame them, they were right behind the group ahead of them too. All said and done a 5 and a bit hour round, not a marshal in sight to try help things along, very disappointing.Course itself is challenging, there's a lot of hills, sloping fairways, hazards and trees. There are a few nice holes, but also several slightly confusing ones that can punish you if you haven't played the course before and know where to hit. Also a lot of blind shots, which personally really dislike.
Greens had been recently treated but were still running pretty true, bunkers in good nick. Holes on the greens looked like they had been cut by a 5 year old with safety scissors, edges an absolute mess.

Not draining as well as it used to do
All off mats except last hole. Lots of sticky earth picked up on the wheels of the trolley and on the base of your shoes. Green had been tinned recently and so a few bobles expected but not the amount of mud!! Bunkers had very little sand. Greens were of varying speed but I can see that the work being done now will benefit the course in the later Summer season.(Round played: Feb 2022 - Score: 96 Handicap: 16.3)
