Challenging hilly course

It is always a pleasure to play here, the course was in fantastic condition! However, the bunker are in horrible condition. it is unfortunate that the condition of the bunkers on a bunkerful course ruined a pleasant round.

Nice course set within two valleys and has a well balanced layout.
Great for the average player.
Course conditions ok as it’s winter and the greens were punched.
Looking forward to going back in the summer.

In good condition considering the temps

Greens were very receptive and ball was travelling a long way. Shame could not stay on the fairways.

This course is in great condition and always a good challenge. Greens a little bumpy perhaps but otherwise thoroughly enjoyable.

Course in good condition. Very hilly so a buggy was necessary (for me anyway) Bunkers were awkward. Some hard pan, some wet and some dry and fluffy.

Great condition

Played here last Sunday after a full 24 hours of rain the day before so was expecting it to be a bit soggy. Pleasantly surprised as the condition of ALL the course was great. The layout of this course is a bit quirky with some hilly lies even on the fairway. Some great holes on this course of 3 par 3s and 3 par 5s. My fav is the par 5 5th over water. Greens a bit slow but very good nick, We played a bit later than normal ( 3PM ) and got a deal , £29, Great value at that price. £50 would be too steep. A good mix of shortish par 4s and some longer tricky par 4s. Pace of play was good, 4 hours for a 3 ball. Noone hold us up and we did not hold up anyone either. Most holes are fairly open apart from a few tree lined fairways on one side. Huge car park so no trouble there. Would play again at the same rate.

Challenging across the board

Surrey National is a long sloping course that even the fittest would find hard work. The first hole gives you a flavour of what to expect. A straight hole sloping right to left means a less than accurate shot shoots you off onto the fairway of the 2nd just from the roll away. Undulating greens make less than 2 putts hard and unseen hazards make ball loss likely. It's one to try if you need more challenge, but for the high handicapper expect a tough day.

Really interesting course to play. Each hole is unique, very undulating, with lots of side slope, and interesting, multi-level greens. Facilities aren't anything to write home about, but the course makes anything worth it.

Immaculate course

Well worth the travel from Brighton. The course was an excellent yet forgiving challenge with some lovely views. The holes were unique and enough obstacles in the way to make you think. The staff were excellent and the clubhouse was very welcoming. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to visiting again.

Super Course

What a fantastic course and the views are stunning. The course & greens are excellent and I really can't wait to play it again in the spring. The course is very hilly so would definitely hire a buggy next time. Not a course for the more immobile with winter rules in place as the buggies have to stay to the pathways which is impractical.
Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Very nice and hilly course not far from M25 in the south. I played for the first time traveling from North London. It's a challenging course and demanding as there're a lot up-and-down, and quite a few holes requires shots without a clear view of the target. I played well and enjoyed the course. I would definitely go back.
