Three hours and ten minutes to play 11 holes. At that point, we gave up, as we didn’t want to be any further from the club house and the holes in front of us were backed up.
We put a call into the clubhouse on the 8th, but the situation got worse after that. ‘A society’ the excuse - come on.
It doesn’t take five hours to play a round of golf, if the tee times were properly spaced out and the course marshalled.
Had a nightmare here before on a Saturday & will avoid in the future.
I did raise this with the club shop afterwards and their kind offer was a voucher for 18 holes anytime midweek for…..the next month. Thanks but no thanks

Gone downhill massively
I used to play here quite a bit. It was an exceptionally good public course, offering value as well as a decent track that was in reasonable condition.Covid happened and the green fees went from a fair £30-40 to £50-70. Even at winter when I played recently we were charged £50 despite it being a Thursday and non-bank holiday (apparently the club treats it as such). The course was in horrendous condition and should not have been open. It was a real 'trudge in the sludge' through the Surrey clay. I understand that clay means it is always likely to be wetter during winter but when your ball is plugging in the fringe of a green - which is basically thick mud - then you really should have the course shut.
However, the money grabbing owners are more interested in £ in the door since Covid and could not care about the course and it's conditions. £50 to play a course in appalling condition that I would not pay £50 to play in the height of summer.
To top it off the pace of play was very slow, we were constantly behind people on the tee and it took nearly 5 hours to get around. We teed off at 11 and finished in the gloom and dark.
Overall I would have rated this a good 4/5 a few years ago, then last year that went down to 3/5 as the course had deteriorated with people playing and it will only get worse in the coming months as people play on a course that should be shut.
I will not bother playing again, and will avoid the other courses managed by the same firm for the same reasons. There are many others (Reigate Hill nearby for example) which offer a good round at a reasonable rate and with a proper golfing environment.

Profiteering
Played here a couple of weeks ago. I have always liked the layout here but the course condition can vary a lot. When we played the bunkers were out of play which Ii can appreciate given the current crisis. What I didnt appreciate and didnt like at all was the way the club have doubled the cost green fees. This is not and never will be £44 a round course. I have always paid around £23 for a round here and view this sudden price increase as sheer profiteering by the club. Wont be back.Reviewer Rating

Round spoilt
Round spoilt by grumpy elderly member and wife, who caught us up on 10th tee and accused us of cutting in. He then played up right up behind for rest of round. The sort of behaviour that gives golf a bad name!Reviewer Rating

Course is a good layout but greens were woefully slow. No excuse really as weather had been kind. Bunkers were also disappointing. Often no rakes available so a bit of a lottery about lie.
High point was the meal afterwards!

normally better
Have played many times before and always a great course but not today. Cant play this course when it been dry for a week as to many fairways just slope off. Also Bunkers were a disgrace, no sand in and thousands of stones. Dangerous for your club!(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 89 Handicap: 11.4)

Not bad!!
Not a bad wee course considering the amount of rain that has fallen on it over the past month. Very undulating so if you always carry your clubs then be prepared for a log haul! The next tee boxes after the greens could have been better displayed but we managed to work our way round. Greens very receptive so that was a bonus. Decent clubhouse and friendly staff. Wold like to come back and play it again in the summer as I dare say it would be in great condition. Overall an enjoyable round in a nice location.Reviewer Rating

Course is challenging and fairly long at over 6,600 and 6,300 yards (white and yellow tees respectively) - and seemingly longer as you are continually playing off slopes and some fairly steep gradients. Lots of trees and rough plus water - so, be ready to spend time looking for balls!! Rounds tend to take four and a half hours and course gets pretty busy.
