What The Club Says
Designed by Harry S. Colt, of Wentworth and Sunningdale fame, this mature parkland course opened for play in the late 1930s. The 6,037 yard layout surrounds the hotel and features lush fairways and high quality greens making for a relaxing and enjoyable 18 holes of golf. The beautiful par 3 sixth is a great signature hole of 161 yards requiring a well-struck tee-shot from an elevated tee to a rolling green.

Golf Break
Good value for an overnight break. Friendly staff, rooms basic but for one night who cares. Breakfast cooked to order was good and reasonable choices for evening meal which was also good.As for the course, it was in pretty good condition apart from the bunkers which were poor( but then most courses bunkers are poor). IMO if you have bunkers you must maintain them, if that is too expensive or not practice then do away with them! We have stayed here several times and will happily return.

Needs Work.

The greens and fringes are looking a lot better and the greens are rolling well, fairways are a bit dry but still have a decent amount of lush grass.Reviewer Rating
