Chiara Noja Player Profile And What's In The Bag

By: | Mon 14 Nov 2022

CHIARA NOJA turned the form book on its head by shooting a final round of 65 to win the Aramco Team Series at the tender age of 16.

Noja received a sponsor’s invite to take part in Jeddah but nobody could possibly have expected her to produce this sort of performance. She finished tied with England’s Charley Hull after regulation play and then held her nerve to win the playoff with a birdie.

It is a win that is worth $75,000 to Noja.

Unsurprisingly, she was stunned. Noja said: “I don’t think it’s sunk in quite yet. I think the happiness will come later. Before we went out, my Dad showed Charley a picture of me with her as a 10-year-old. It’s like a full circle, it’s a blessing.

“I’ve worked hard over a lot of years now to be able to not back out of shots and commit to everything that I do and not be afraid to fail.

“I have no clue what the plan is next. I can’t even begin to fathom it, I’m just going to try and relax tonight. Maybe have a burger and sleep, probably the best night sleep I’m ever going to get and see how I feel.”

Who Is Chiara Noja?

That is a very good question. She was born on March 16, 2006 and lives in Dubai, mixing her time between golf and high school. Noja was born in Berlin, Germany, and was introduced to golf at age three.

She was raised in England after moving there at seven, and she went on to become a scratch golfer by 12. In 2019, she topped the European rankings in the under-14 age group at 13 after several top results in girls and women amateur championships. By the age of 14 she had a handicap of +7.

She made her debut on the Ladies European Tour in 2020 as a 14-year-old amateur at the Dubai Moonlight Classic.

In June 2002 she won the Czech Ladies Challenge by nine shots, becoming the youngest European ever to win an official women’s world golf rankings tournament. She is the youngest German ever to qualify for the Ladies European Tour.

Although she was born in Germany, her first language is English.
