Course is always in great condition, i played in November last year and the conditions would put many a course in the summer to shame!
Its a tough but fair course, lots of room off the tee but you get some real punishments for going offline. The rough is very sensibly placed, probably the most sensible rough that I have come across, so if you are slightly off the firway you find your ball quicky and the round can keep flowing.
The course always feels quite due to the dunes, some not entirley natural, on most holes, this only adds to the experience.
The 3rd, 6th, 9th, 11th, 12th, 14th and 18th are all great holes, even when compared to the others on the course, each offering a different challange each time you play it.
The course is usually doing a residency offer or a last minute deal so some really good value rounds of golf can be had here.

True Scottish Golf
The course has all the features you would expect on a true Scottish links course (gorse, pot bunkers, hidden ditches and stunning views). We had true Scottish weather thrown in (45 mph winds, hail and sunshine) yet the course was so good this just added to the experience. ?55 for a visitor on a Sunday was good value & the hospitality & food were very good.Reviewer Rating

Great links course
The course is varied and challenging. It has views over the Firth of Clyde; follows the Ayr-Glasgow railway at some points, and has small ditches, large bunkers and steep mounding to keep life interesting. The fairways are firm and the greens are fast. You have to hit approaches to the right parts of the greens as there are many elevation changes. There are white, blue and black tees offering different distance challenges for every level of player. The staff are friendly and helpful, and a half-way service is available.Reviewer Rating

Dreich
Plays like an old links course. We had gales and rain when we played. Clubhouse is very basic but has reasonable facilities. Loved playing this as it had recently hosted the Scottish Open...(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 103 Handicap: 21.9)
