A shadow of its former self
It's such a pity to see this course getting worse every time I play it - almost all of the course is in poor condition, I can't think of something that stands out as being normal for what you pay.Course is extremely wet and cannot drain - it hasn't rained for a few days but today we were playing into puddles on almost every fairway, not to mention mud. Fairways like rough, greens haven't been worth speaking of for the last two years. Granted we received a small discount due to the condition but it wasn't sufficient really.
Facilities are also being let go, a real shame and I wonder what the future holds. It's lovely to have this kind of pay and play course in the area but they really need to spend some money to survive.

I’ve played in better farmyards
24 of us played on 10 Feb and almost universally we agreed this was a terrible course.Even allowing for the recent snow it is obvious that little money has been spend. The course requires extensive drainage, tee boxes need to be clearly delineated and smartened up. Approaches to the greens needs weeds hacked back and paths require wood savings, gravel or tarmac.
The greens were atrocious with putts bumping around so that nothing was true
I remember playing this course some tears ago and it was much better than present.
Staff were friendly and the pro very knowledgable as was the starter.
In summary there are too much better golf courses in Surrey , Berks and Kent.

Rubbish
Course is in poor condition, it is a shadow of its former self. Was very disappointed and will not be going back. Very over priced for its state. Save your time and money and go to a better course.Reviewer Rating

Very poor
This course is in very bad maintained condition. Fairways awful and greens in need of urgent works. It is known that the course is no longer under the stewardship of Crown and that many repairs are required to bring the course to a reasonable standard. This should however reflect in the green fees. Would not play this course at any cost at the moment.Reviewer Rating

Greens very patchy, didn't run true and not been cut in days, no definition to fairways or tee boxes, again not cut recently (more than a couple of days). Rubble/earth works lining 16th fairway. Most bunkers had grass growing through them or were GUR, as per Nicholas H's comments. Animal faeces littering the course, even on the greens!
Won't be going back any time soon...

Staff is very friendly and I only hope that the new owners can restore the course to the level it deserves. The layout and holes are there, it just needs investment into proper maintenance.
Currently not remotely worth the £24 green fee.
