What the club says: A picturesque part heathland, part parkland course with some fantastic holes throughout. There are several tricky par 3's with some well placed hidden bunkers.

Gem of a course
I played here today and what a joy to play,Heather on most holes and a wonderful layout. The par 3s can be tricky and there is 5 of them. Wonderful old school clubhouse with good selection of food also available. We pre ordered beef sandwiches after the golf and they were beautiful..Half way house serving alcohol which was a bonus.

Exceptional Course, with a small blemish
Wow! What a beautiful course, I think its #41 ranking in England leaves it slightly underrated.Just one slight issue we had that we didn’t appreciate, which was the starter on the first tee hurrying us along and quite bluntly and repeatedly telling us ‘to get on the tee’ as if we were late for our 11am tee time. I would understand if we were in fact late but we were standing next to the teebox, with a group in range on the fairway and the time was 10:57am (we had all hit our tee shots by 11:01am as I checked the time).
I think paying £680 should get us slightly better treatment that this and a ‘Welcome to New Zealand Golf Club, enjoy your round’ would have sufficed. Again course was exceptional and definitely worth the money, this was simply a slight blemish and a shame that they had to live up to the stereotypical welcome many have received at a snooty private golf club.
Rest of the staff were very accommodating and course itself feels like you are in another world and one of the most enjoyable rounds we have ever had, despite some sub standard play from all of us!

Hard for visitors to get on and can see why
New Zealand is an exclusive golf club, getting on here can be hard unless with a member. It is an old school club, a lot history and many of the original features still there. I paid £170 for 18 holes on a Monday, a high price considering all the great courses around. Unfortunately, the whole experience was underwhelming, the course condition was ok (greens good) compared with Hankley Common or West Hill, it doesn’t come close, the course is relatively flat and shortish. High number of par threes. The layout was rather boring, no features holes and nothing took my breath away. If I had paid £60 I would say it was nice, for £170, rather poor. If you want a good course around woking for the same price, go to West Hill, Hankley Common (my favourite) or worpelsdon. Not worth the effort trying to play.Reviewer Rating

Fun Little Course
Hidden out of the way in Woking, this little course is a treat to play. Short and only a par 68 do not tell you the whole story. With a LOT of heather around the course, stray from the fairways at your peril. It was firm and dry when I played, meaning a lot of bounce and no need to use driver or fairway metals (I used Driver on the 1 par 5 but then only had a 7 iron into the green), this often ended with running into the rough or heather. The greens were immaculate, running true and a pleasant 10 to 10.5. definitely worth playing if you get the chance.Reviewer Rating

Secluded gem
A challenge to book (email the club) but a delightful course. Green fee covers a full day of play so you could get moneys worth in summer, November not so much. Would love to play in peak condition, a great challenge for all (not just big hitters)Reviewer Rating

Hidden Beauty!
Lucky enough to play here annually as part of society, usually Nov/March. Always in immaculate condition & better than most in terms of drainage. Not a course for bombers & requires careful plotting for a good score. Greens are fair & true so can't be blamed! Lovely old clubhouse & great well stocked half way hut if an alcoholic tipple required! All staff are welcoming & helpful. One of my favourite places to play this amazing game with spectacular views with nearly all holes being framed by heather. A must play.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful Course but beware...
Played in beautiful sunny conditions and thoroughly enjoyed the course but if you're wayward off the tee beware. The first cut of grass rough is typically very narrow and then you're in the heather. Almost every hole, both sides and its often a killer. Great greens, good bunkering and yes its not that long but that's mostly due to lack of Par 5's not the lack of hole length with numerous 400 yard + Par 4's. One word of caution....the club is a little stuck in the dark ages. Rude members, pushing through without a a thanks, guests being asked to the leave the course as they weren't good enough. We had booked a tee time for client golf day (only 8 of us) and were 'asked' to tee off 45 mins early......presumably because a member demanded it. Not that I think they care that much but at £150 a head they should treat paying guests with more respect. Such a shame as its a lovely course.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 85 Handicap: 14)

Beautiful Course!
Lucky enough to enjoy this course with a society.Course in very good condition considering the amount of rain in the preceding days so obviously drains well. Some fairways slightly patchy showing the damage from the heatwave summer but greens in excellent condition.
A very fair course lined with more heather than rough and playable for all standards.
Hospitality was warm and look forward to returning in March!

Not my Fav
Not the best in this price bracket that is for sure, but like everything in this area its over priced for what it is, some better courses in the Midlands that don't get shouted about as much such as Beau and Enville to name just 2Reviewer Rating

A real pleasure
Was lucky enough to be invited to play this delightful course. Each hole is cut out of woodland and hidden from the next. Yardage really isn't a factor, its all about position and accuracy as the heather that lines every hole and encroaches on to the fairways really is a punishment. The course was in excellent condition and the greens were a good pace. Hope I get the chance to play here again and a special mention for the food in the clubhouse, it was fantastic.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 80 Handicap: 11.7)

Simply stunning
Amongst many of the finest courses west of London, New Zealand is perhaps one of the lesser known courses, but is truly magnificent. The course is always immaculate and greens true. They were perhaps a little slow, but it had rained for most of the preceding 48 hours so hardly surprising. The fairways were superb, even after all the rain. On top of all this splendour the lunch in the clubhouse is one of the best anywhere in the country. One of the best days out golfing you can have.(Round played: Aug 2017 - Score: 87 Handicap: 19.1)

simply stunning
i was lucky enough to play this stunning course for £40 and i must say it nearly knocked Royal St Georges from the top of my favourite courses.the course was like a cross between Woburn and Walton Heath - tree lines fairways with lots of heather that gave you plenty to think about off the tee.
the greens were deceptively fast but true and the greenkeeper must've been in a bad mood of Friday as there were 2 or 3 sucker pins.
i am so glad i got to play here before the place is sold off for housing
