Played the Crown on a windy cold day, it\'s very narrow in places. Preferred the Cromwell, much more interesting and open. The biggest disappointment - the greens very slow & wooly, the bunkers have little or no sand making them a nightmare to play out of. Serious investment needed on the actual course conditions!!! Club house is a cabin, such a let down!! Staff were great though. So much potential if the owners invested on the course. The hotel has clearly had all the investment instead, what a shame!

Nice course. Greens in poor condition though. Very patchy grass on them. The club house is a series of large portakabins. Apparently a new club house is being built - though we were told they've been in this place for 2 years. This was a society day and the meal we had was good.

We played after a week of heavy rain. The course was wet and as a result the fairways and greens needed cutting

Played here regularly as it's nearby. Courses both very well laid out, mature tracks but they do suffer in low areas when it's really wet. Pro shop team super helpful and friendly to non members.
I always wonder why the owners never spend any money on this place it could be one of the most popular golf venues in the southwest if it had a proper clubhouse not portacabins, the bigger pro shop was ever finished and they improved the practice area e.g. floodlit range.

Played as a guest with members. Pro shop service was good but bar and food left a lot to be desired. The members I played with were often ignored at bar in favour of other members that the bar staff were more familiar with. The clubhouse is a combination made up of several portakabins, which is out of keeping with the adjacent House and accomodation. Will, and have played again as both courses are enjoyable and in good condition.

Have played this Course several times now and enjoyed it very much even though the back nine is a little tight.
The only criticism I have with this course is the bunkers which are inconsistent, some having very little sand in them resulting in hitting rocks just bellow the sand level

Played the Crown Course today on a 2for1 voucher at £17 each.We arrived as agreed at 7am to play which was excellent first out on course. I have to say that the bunkers were not raked and we only seen 1 green keeper out on course. The holes are very playable and tricky, greens were in good condition but presentation of course cold have been better i feel.
