Cromwell = Outstanding
An outstanding golf course, carved superbly into the Gloucestershire countryside.The layout is superb, where you just have to hang on for the first 9 before getting to the more scoreable back 9. The 7th is a great hole, go for it or lay up, it's a tricky decision.
The greens are superb, true & fast, OMG are they fast.
It's a course I'd need to play 2 or 3 times to really work it out.
The hotel looks fantastic, I didn't use the facilities, but it looks fantastic.
This is a must play, especially for £15 on Golf Now.

Mr.
I've just spent 4 days at the resort, playing 5 rounds of golf, 2 on the Crown, 3 on the Cromwell. This place is phenomenal. If you are dithering about whether to go or not, just do it, you'll not regret it! This is a classy place without the feel of a stuffy hotel, and my room was in a converted barn around a small, quaint courtyard. As for the golf, these 2 courses offer very different experiences. The Crown is tough with tight fairways, and the Cromwell is more expansive, more forgiving, with large greens. Both are immaculately kept and the views on the Cromwell are to die for. Yes, the golf "clubhouse" is the only oddity, as it's a temporary structure but it's no big issue, and it serves a purpose just fine.Reviewer Rating

Great course
We played the Codrington on a very wet and windy day. The course is challenging, however rewards good play. A fair amount of water on several of the holes, but this just added to the challenge in a good way. The 1st was a bit difficult to find and I would recommend taking a course planner. The professional in the shop was helpful and very welcoming and the members we met during the round were extremely friendly and approachable. We all would love to play this course again in the sunshine! Try and wait for a discounted offer.Reviewer Rating

The staff are friendly and both courses are a good test for all standards of players.
The Crown course is easier to play first time as the Cromwell has a few hidden hazards, but both are well kept, well designed and interesting.
The views are excellent from the Cromwell and the bar is friendly and adequate, though not palatial.
Worth every penny and friendly staff count a lot to visiting players.
I regularly pay to play and will keep doing so.

The Crown course is a park land set up offering plenty of challenges for the most experienced of golfers. Small, manicured greens and well placed hazards make 36 points a struggle!
The club has a lot of work going on at the moment with a new Bar, Clubhouse, Reception and 18 new hotel rooms currently being built.
The courses are under renovation as well.
Definitely advise checking this one out!!
