Such a shame at a nice course
We've always liked playing this course in the summer, one of our favourites, but things have changed since the new quasar building has now opened.Yes there's a nice new golf shop, but before you get there you have to park your car and if you haven't got the change for the machine, you have to phone a given number, give your bank details etc etc, not really what your expecting before you play, you do get your money back when you pay for you golf but who needs all this faffing around especially when there's 6 of you trying to do it at the same time ! The course hasn't changed it's still a good course. After the round if you and your fellow golfers would like some refreshments, well unless your a member then good luck with that idea! Determined to do so, we were directed to a small side widow where all the quasar customers were, just what golfers want, sitting amongst kids running around eating burgers, or we could have stood on the balcony without seats and looked at the members balcony with seats.

Golf great but Socially terrible
It starts with changes to public car parking which was a real shambles and having to download an app and can't get through on the phone. Thankfully a kindly sole gave me their ticket so..next the golf (we play Hartswood about 8 times a year) course was good and receptive and challenging and enjoyable. Next post-round drinks, now visitors are locked out of a members area to be left with the screaming kids in the new soft play area. Going to a hatch behind the bar in the public area to find a kid serving who had no idea what a lager was or a cider (no training) terrible service. We were treated like lepers despite being regular non members disgusted. So angry and dissapointed.Reviewer Rating

So underrated
Compared to the other Brentwood courses the layout here is excellent. Tree lined fairways and picturesque greens on most holes. It's well kept and has a good mixture of holes. You have to plot your way around a bit as there are a lot of opportunities to get stuck in tree trouble but that just makes for the challenge. The practice facilities are poor but they're spending millions improving them over the next year or so. I'm excited to see how it ends up.Reviewer Rating

Value for Money Course
Have played here a few times and for a Council run Golf Course it isn't that bad. The drainage isn't the best but the course was in a good condition with just a bit of surface water here and there.Reviewer Rating

Great little course
Great course used to play when i was a kid, a few water additions which add to the tricky nature. Sadly the greens were a bit bumpy, i will definitely play again later in the summer.(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 81 Handicap: 14.4)
