Course not up to it's facilities, but playable. Was a member some 6/7 years ago when fairways and greens were immaculate, since a lot of ground work done not as good.

Lots of spoil dumping going on resulting in too many free drops from ground apparently 'undergoing landscaping'. 2nd & 3rd holes might as well be on a building site.Large weed covered earth mounds separate the fairways on some others. on the plus side the greens were very good and the bunkers although they look 'puddingy'with too many small stones are superb to play out of.

A good course to play on a cold bright winters day! Greens are still in good condition although some ice to be expected in the bunkers.

Difficult to assess the course as was very cold and greens were frozen hard. Otherwise course in decent condition considering the weather.

Good VFM. Could do with cutting back some of the long rough which is a bit too close to the fairway on certain holes for long hitters

New management, very polite and doing remedial work on the course. Greens are true but recent dry weather has had an effect.

A lot of work has been done on this course but I don't understand why they have moved out of the old clubhouse.

Grass when you miss fairways has change over recent months, basically miss the fairway it's a lost ball.

Very windy and greens were bumpy and surprisingly firm, would play again but not in a 2 club wind.

A course of two halves really. A lot of the holes were a bit 'samey' but that's being critical. Tees and fairways were in great condition but the greens were really poor; putting was a bit of a lottery on too many holes thanks to the poorly 'healed' aeration slits and grass cut down to the soil/moss. They've closed the old clubhouse and relocated it away from the course and worryingly it looks as though they're prioritising the new 4G football pitches that have gone up since my last visit. The course has great potential, its a shame the problems are such big ones. Will probably go back to give it another chance, but it's likely to be the last one given.

Played mid April, second time in last few months. Friendly staff as always (only course played on where tee shop is run by women which always helps), course boggy underfoot especially as get further into the round, nobody fault but many other courses do not seem to suffer as much, holes are interesting and challenging but favour straight hitters as fairways quite narrow, greens ok, quite quick and some are undulating which makes for more of a challenge. Good value for money but better overall courses about but definitely worth playing. One big gripe is after first few holes no ball washing machines had any water in so white ball was almost brown by end of the round

The have closed the large clubhouse and now share a clubhouse with the kids football pitches. Course is still reasonable if a bit wet. Greens are even and fast but have a lot of moss in them

I don't think that North Weald will likely be most player's favourite course, but that doesn't mean it should be dismissed totally. The greens, tees, and fairways all looked like they were suffering in this rain-free summer, but they all played okay.

Most of the holes are fairly open with little rough, so play the tricky holes well and you can get a decent score. The tricky holes would probably be the 4th and 10th, if my memory serves me correctly, both of which would be stand out contenders for the nicest holes on the course too.

There isn't a pro shop as such, just a reception area that happens to sell balls, gloves, and tee times. The girl working there was very pleasant and welcoming though.
