What the club says: The Valley Course (9 Hole par 27)
This 9 Hole par 3 course is without question one of the best designed and maintained in the country. Lakes, bunkers, streams and mature trees provide an interesting and fun layout. It is a great place to start to learn the game, but also a challenge to the experienced golfer.
The Weald Course (9 hole par 35)
Top professionals play here because it's so good - so do us lesser golfers as well.
A great course with some great holes. You'll want to play it again and again - always the sign of a good course. There is a good balance of holes, some long, some short, but testing all parts of your game and making you think.

One 9 hole and short par 3 course
Been regular at hobbs cross for years, two courses, one a small par 3 testing your short game and one full 9 hole course.Kept in great condition and variety of holes and a good test
Club do not allow bookings however and as such whole world descends at weekend and after work times meaning you can wait an age to tee off and pace is slow, would recommend on basis of good courses but get a booking system! Quite pricey can play an 18 locally for cheaper

Not very supportive for young children
My daughter and partner drove for half an hour to play a different and new course which had great reviews and was in lovely surroundings. On arrival they were told that my child couldn’t be caddied for by her dad (She weighs 4 stone so unable to carry her own bag for a long period of time), he had three of his own clubs in her bag so they could both play but were advised this wasn’t allowed due to COVID. Golf is a sport that is very social distanced. They have played many courses in the area since lockdown restrictions were lifted and it has never been mentioned, in fact it’s more encouraged as they can go out in their own bubble.
For an up and coming superstar, she was so upset and felt discouraged and has since said she will never ever play the course and will pass on her experiences to all at her current club and lessons.
Instead of them worrying about two family members playing on their own and sharing a bag, they should have been outside on the first tee where there was a huge queue and not much social distancing being adhered to.
She left disheartened but then drove to her regular course and done 9 holes without any fuss and shot a 33 on a par 27. Not bad for an 8 year old little girl.

great place to start
started here when i was a kid and still go back now and then as a great place to practice and for mates. some lovely holes, very relaxed and great price.(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 39 Handicap: )

Hidden Gem
Amazing par 3 courses. Great view, tucked away within Epping Forest.

Hobbs Twilght
Good course for beginners who are looking to start playing Golf. Also good for the kids. Does get a little busy at key times due to short holes.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 38 Handicap: )

Nice condition
Good course to get you out and swinging again. The condition was great and the greens were great, I did struggle to get the pace of them but that was not the fault of the course.(Round played: May 2020 - Score: 33 Handicap: )

Nice for practice but slow
Nice course, quite open so good to practice a few shots.Pace of play was awful though - which has put me off for good.
(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 44 Handicap: )

Loved it, will be back very soon
It is a truly fantastic looking course in tip-top condition. Absolutely no complaints here and will make sure to visit very often.(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 36 Handicap: )

Great course
Lovely well kept course. Great practice facilities too. Pat 3 is a lovely little course great for beginners and the Weald is a nice but still challenging course.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 83 Handicap: )

Lovely local course
Extremely well kept.

Great condition, shames it's not 18 holes
This course which has a main 9 hole course and a Par 3 is in outstanding condition and has been all winter. Possibly the best putting surfaces for miles around and an interesting course. Don't let the fact that it's 9 holes put you off, you can always play twice, but even so if all you have time for is 9 holes you can do no better than go here. Two tricky par 3's, a tricky par 5, a par 4 that only the longest accurate hitters will reach in regulation matched with excellent greens means you'll enjoy this.(Round played: Mar 2019 - Score: 85 Handicap: 17)

Great little course
Nice course just outside Epping. Well kept 9 hole public course which can get quite busy

Fantastic facility
