Friendly atmosphere and course could be decent but let down by the shocking state of the greens.
Dry, patchy basically the worst greens I have played all year and I have played a lot of course. Hopefully they sort them out soon as I wont play again until confident they are fixed.

I've played this course for many years and always enjoyed my rounds. We played yesterday and the course has gone to pot. The rough was 2 /3 feet high so no chance of finding your ball. The second cut was more like rough so hard to play a decent recovery shot. The greens are in a terrible state, bumpy and hardly any grass on them. Won\'t be playing there again until they decide to put the course back to good playing conditions.

Poor condition. The bunkers have no sand. The fairways are bare lies and the ball picks up loads of mud when wet. All the ball cleaners have been removed.

Course is in terrible condition. Greens are slow and untreated and half the course is still under construction. £33 for a weekend is a rip off!!

Always enjoyed this course, unfortunately they have let it go a bit. Also, they have moved to a new clubhouse...dont know what is going on there?

The clubhouse, there are no signs or indications that the clubhouse has moved, we had no idea and were standing around for a while until a member saw us and put us right. Once inside the young lady on the desk cannot be faulted she was polite and friendly and helpful as was the young man that was serving our coffee but why did we have to wait until 0830 for our bacon rolls it was booked for 0800 and we teed off at 0900 so this was a rush in the end. The rolls were nice.
The course, we have played here several times both privately and as part of this society and we have never known the course to be so poor. You have the fairways and deep rough nothing In between so a ball that just rolls off disappears in to deep cabbage rather than just the first cut. The bunkers were lacking in sand but made up for in stones and hard core. but the worst complaint my members and I have is about the greens considering this is the middle of spring where is the grass and why are they rutted and scarred, they were also hard as rock so much so that when I hit a good high shot into a par 3 the ball bounced like a tennis ball on the green and disappeared off the back. Some of the greens were almost unplayable.
The lunch was ok and as I said the staff were ok too.
I have been asked by my members and I agree with them that we do not return to this course next year.
We did notice that for a Friday in good weather the course was empty have you lost members and players due to the condition?

clean well kept but poor drainage. bunkers were full of water and greens very soft

Looked forward to going back to this course and unfortunately lost motivation half way round. Greens covered in pitch marks. T boxes unkept, Fairways uncut. Very scruffy looking. I'm surprised as this is a really great course and club. Perhaps greenkeepers using hot weather as excuse I don't know. Will go back later in year because of great price and I do like the course (39 points 15 HCP)but will hope for massive improvement.
