Great course! On a hot summers day it as the feeling of being somewhere like Portugal with its wide open space. Well maintained course with a nice variety of holes.

Interesting challenge

First time playing on a links type course, so wasn't sure what to expect. A fairly open track, with a good mix of par 3's, 4's and 5's, with the signature island hole providing a bit of fun. The course is long in comparison to it's yardage, so decent drives are paramount. The greens were very slow, due to their springy condition. The only other gripe, no scorecards were available at the pro shop.

Fantastic Challenging Course

First time playing at Blake's and was thoroughly impressed with the course. Lots of open spaces to reward the good shots but plenty of hidden hazards to punish the wayward ones. The island green on the 8th is truly one of the better holes in Essex.

Ideal for the ReStart

After 84 days, needed somewhere forgiving what could be a lot of rust. Few trees on the links & lot of sun & gentle wind. Never held up despite the course being full. Ideal

Good Course but Very tough

Playing in rain make this course very tough to score and most of their Par3 is over 170 Yards from Yellow. Not bad to have such a nice golf course near central London. The course is Flat but no buggy facility

Society Day

Greens have just been spiked, but we knew this before we played and therefore a reduction in green fees.
