Terrible Greens
Played here on 6th Jan, what i thought to be good value for money at £13 for 18, ended up not worth it at all. Course layout is OK with some challenges but the greens are almost unplayable. Such poor condition its impossible to even put in a straight line. parts of the green have no grass at all. Wont be returning, even if it is £13Reviewer Rating

This club has a great signature water hole mid round and is in an open parkland setting. It’s not overly challenging but has some nice views and is quiet. Greens were in good condition.

Greens ?
There has been some kind of disease on the greens that has made them pretty much unplayable. Other than that the course needs some water on the fairways as they are v dry and cracked in places. They have dropped the price while the greens are so poor but avoid for a while if you want to sharpen your putting game. We played gimmes from a clubs length but putting was still a lottery(Round played: Sep 2018 - Score: 91 Handicap: 18.5)

Greens are a mess
Overall course is in ok condition, however the greens are ruined..they are obviously trying their best to encourage the grass to grow.. but currently I've seen better greens at council run pitch and putt course.6months of rest,rain,sun and a little bit of love and care.. these greens will be back to their vibrant colours once again..!

Blakes Essex Bad Greens and Unwelcoming
Blakes was a massive let down the surroundings were fine. We played in a 4 ball with a 3 and all 2's behind us. So although there were several marshals out on the course nobody thought to pair the 2's up so the course flowed better. We let the 3 and two of the 2 balls through, On the 11th we were challenged by the captain for slow play which was unfair as we were frustrated ourselves that we were being held up once we let players through, which wouldn't happen if they managed the course better. We were also unable to get breakfast as the chef came in late and when we asked about lunch the chef was on a break. I will definitely not be playing Blakes again.Reviewer Rating

Up and coming golf course. Still some work to be done. Greens needed cutting but overall great value for money. Recommend playing.

Very poor. Course not maintained at all, several of group could not find their ball in the middle of the fairway due to the length of grass. No monitoring of buggy use has led to the course looking like a rally cross track. Can only describe it as a second rate pay and play type course certainly not a championship course! Bar prices a joke as well £5.90 for pint of lager!!!! I'm short don't waste your money and play elsewhere.

Very nice course .Unfortunately no picture layouts on each individual hole so if your not a regular here you play it blind not knowing where hazards are
