Terrible greens
Not played the course for around a year and it has gone downhill terrible. Has a great layout and the potential to be a top course but let down by poor course management. Very disappointing won't be going back anytime soonReviewer Rating

Woolston Manor
I was looking forward to playing this course as I haven’t played it for years. In its defence we had just had a lot of rain when we played it and the greens had recently been hollow tined. The greens were dreadfully slow and you could tell they were in poor condition, the bunkers although were flooded were full of stones, the place in general needed a good tidy up as it looked scruffy. This course has a great layout with some great holes but just needs someone to grab hold of it to bring it back to life. When you drive in it looks like an impressive American Country Club but needs some TLC.I would recommend if the course conditions improved.

Good course but condition lets it down
Woolston Manor in Chigwell essex is a great layout and tough course with bunkers everywhere and a fair amount of water. Unfortunately, the course is in poor condition,the tees look they haven't been watered in weeks and lots of the bunkers are covered in grass and weeds. The green also were very dry in places and extremely slow but they were true.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 101 Handicap: 16)

Midweek Round at Woolston Manor
Right a clammy day at a course I enjoyed back in 2012, Value of £18 each for two of us great value, welcomed in a nice dining area with large TV's. Coffee and Bacon sandwich to follow very nice but pricey...two coffess and bacon sanwichs £16?. The course I remebered is very challenging. Tees were the worst I have played on in the last two years, fairways ok and greens poor to average. The course needs investment with the non existent sand in the bunkers and the overgrown rough making recovery almost impossible. I came away very dissapointed. We normally have a society event and WMGC was on the agenda, it now isn't. Shame really.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 106 Handicap: 20.3)

Going to seed
What a lovely course this used to be. Now clearly being left to fail and so owners can redevelop. The layout and greens remain reminders of what it used to be. Uncut fairways, a cheap green fee and broken bridges are sign of future failings. What a shame(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 87 Handicap: 11)

Needs TLC
Date: 23/4/19, HCP 24, Score 105The course is in-need of a lot of love - overgrown fairways, rough is about a ft deep all the way round and the bunkers hardly have any sand in them - which is a problem as there are loads!!
Condition aside, the course is really tough, most greens guarded by bunkers or you have to hit over water into small greens.
At £13 (twilight) you cant complain too much, but there are other local courses where the condition is so much better

Course is wet and did not look like it drains very well, and could be better looked after. There are a few interesting holes and a fair few of the holes there are some birdies/easy pars to be made. However, better value elsewhere but worth playing if not played there before.

Terrible Drainage, and no trolleys - you would think they would tell you when you book. messy boggy walk pick and place all day.
