Played on a society day and course was in good condition, with all bunkers bar a few (GIR) now full of sand.
Biggest gripe is the fact that pro shop had no strokesavers and yardage marking is at an absolute minimal. 150 and 100 yds (to front of green) in centre of fairway only .. Pretentious to give yardages to front of green when golfers have no idea of depth of green (which are quite big) or pin position!!
If you have a GPS (or they have some strokesavers) then you will probably enjoy your round far more than I did !! Took everyone in a fourball without one ages to get around because of lack of reference points to get a yardage.
My suggestions are that they should put marker posts of edge of fairways and seriously consider supplying centre of green yardages or giving you a pin position sheet like proper golf courses who work yardage to FOG do!!
If you have a GPS then you will enjoy the course... If you don't expect a 4 hour plus marathon and lots of shots fallen just short into bunkers.

Course and clubhouse need some attention. Tees are poor - rough and uncut. There are too many bunkers, which vary greatly in quality/state of repair. Some have reasonably good sand, others are poor. Greens are reasonable but fairways need to be cut shorter. There is an overall feel of under investment. I don't think I will be returning.

Car park full of potholes, clubhouse fine staff welcoming, course needs a lot of t.l.c. bunkers are very poor why so many if they can't be maintained, greens that should flat and true this time of year are anything but. Overall needs money but thats not an easy commodity at present.

The course has to be improved greatly. I know that we have had some rain but still. The tees need to be improved drastically. Old fashion balls onm the tees are no good. With a club like woolston Manor and all that it precedes it needs money pumped into it. It should be noe of the best in the area and at the moment it is sliding by the wayside. When driving in the clubhouse looks stunning, but teeing of and walking down the first you can see all the crap down teh side of teh clubhouse. not good. The membership is about £1400 per year and that needs to be worth every penny. I play golf alot and play off a decent handicap and i know there are budget restrictions etc but a little tidy up would be amazing. I saw the greenkeepers out yesterday and they seemed to be updating the tees which is a start.

Played a Twilight round, very disappointed. Understand that we are still in April and that the Greens are still under treatment, but it was a disgrace the condition of greens, all pitted with pitch marks. I could have repaired 20 plus on each green. I was thinking of Membership, but will have to seriously reconsidering. Playing again in 2 weeks so will see if any improvement. Greens at moment, very woolly, have to hit putts very firm to reach the hole. Still a nice course with a good degree of difficulty, just sort the Greens out

Bunkers galore - everywhere you look.
Course conditions weren't great today - greens were far too scruffy, bumpy, some bunkers were waterlogged.
However, a few people I know played a society day a week later and said the greens were 10x better.

Okay

Okay, but condition shows it's not being well-kept; there are better conditioned courses in near proximity for the same price range. Bunkers were poor - only about 2cm of sand and rock hard underneath, so expect plenty of club bouncing off the surface and thin bunker shots. Greens were patchy - dry in spots, and too long in other spots, so pace judgement was almost pointless.

I like the course, great value for money. It's quite slow play but also understandable, no pressure either side. The bunkers need some TLC and quite boggy at this time of year.
A nice variety of holes.

Not easy

We paid ?30 for an early start on a Saturday.Course was in fairly good nick(a bit rough around the edges). Some long par fours and many bunkers to catch you out, they had just about enough sand in them.Nice outside terrace with swimming pool.We didn't try the food so can't comment on that

Reasonable condition

Course in reasonable condition, however a lot of GUR. Greens okay for early season but bumpy. Very slow pace of play. Generous fairways, however winds made it moderate in difficulty
