What the club says: The Woolston Manor course was designed using the natural features of the land, in particular the river Roding which meanders throughout the course. Neil Coles MBE and David Williams designed the 18 hole championship course which was opened in the spring of 1994. The course measures 6510 yards from the white tees with a par of 72. The legendary Gary Player described it as one of the best young courses that he had ever played - praise indeed!

Well presented challenge
Spaciously laid out course, with some interesting holes around water and hidden tees. A challenge for golfers of all abilities to pick their shots. The bunkers may have needed fresh sand and tidying, but otherwise the fairways and greens were excellent, given it's first week out of lockdown.

Reasonable condition
Course in reasonable condition, however a lot of GUR. Greens okay for early season but bumpy. Very slow pace of play. Generous fairways, however winds made it moderate in difficulty

Challenging Course

Continuously improving

Worth a visit
Good course and facilities. Will play it again but in the summer. You need to plot your way round the course. First time i played it so lost a few balls . Plenty of water and plenty of bunkees.(Round played: Oct 2020 - Score: 110 Handicap: 19.3)

Lovely lay out of holes, tee-boxes, excellent, bunkers poor and unfortunately so was the greens.
If they could address the greens it would be a very gd scoring course.
Will return though ????????

Terrible greens
Not played the course for around a year and it has gone downhill terrible. Has a great layout and the potential to be a top course but let down by poor course management. Very disappointing won?t be going back anytime soon

Lovely course

Woolston Manor
I was looking forward to playing this course as I haven’t played it for years. In its defence we had just had a lot of rain when we played it and the greens had recently been hollow tined. The greens were dreadfully slow and you could tell they were in poor condition, the bunkers although were flooded were full of stones, the place in general needed a good tidy up as it looked scruffy. This course has a great layout with some great holes but just needs someone to grab hold of it to bring it back to life. When you drive in it looks like an impressive American Country Club but needs some TLC.I would recommend if the course conditions improved.

Good challenge of golf
Touch course with river roding running through it. Lots of shots with water coming into play either alongside fairway, in front of green or both.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 82 Handicap: 16.7)
