What the club says: Loughton Golf Club is a 4652 yd Wooded/Parkland Eighteen-hole course.(9 holes with 2 sets of tees). It is hilly with great views over the Essex countryside. A challenge for most golfers, with the emphasis on accuracy rather than length. The course consists of 10 par fours, 6 par threes & 2 par fives.

DONT PLAY HERE!!!!! Played here a few years ago and was lovely. Came back Sunday and can honestly say is now the worse golf course I have ever played. The new owners have left this course to literally rot. There are no \"greens\" as such, the grass has been left to grow wild with clearly no maintainance in place. It seems the new owners are consentrating all their efforts on the restaurant whilst forgetting the main attraction. (Even the food in the restaurant is not to the high standard and quality of its previous owners). Such a shame to see what was a beautiful course go to rack and ruin. Hope this is not intentional with the foresight to being sold on to developers!!!

WORST COURSE IN THE COUNTRY

It's criminal what the current owners have done to this course. The lease states the curry house must be run as a golf club - currently this is not happening. If anyone has played in 2017 and thinks there is a worse course in the country I'd be interested to know where it is. The greens have pretty much disappeared, as have the tee boxes - lost to the wild. Circa 16 members left and that number is falling fast. Absolutely disgusting "greens", they are in a poorer state than the majority of fairways on nearby courses. (That is no exaggeration).

worst course ive played

Played here for the first time today. I can honestly say this is the worse coursei have ever played. The condition was terrible thhe greens had holes all over it and the grass didnt look like it had been cut for years. People who say it is in good condition obviously havent played golf for very long. Tee boxes where non existent Will not be going back. Shame realy because it has alot of potential with the layout but totaly let down by the maintenance (score _75 ) hcap -6.5

The course is in a sad condition, the wet winter hasn't helped either. The fairways are boggy and the greens are bumpy. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff and players were extremely friendly here. The course is extremely hilly with all shots uphill or downhill, so is pretty technical. It is well maintained and i agree with the others that it is a great place to play, with amazing views, a real thinking and tactical course. I'm a high handicapper and found it really tough, but hope to come back in the future after i've improved dramatically.
I played on a Saturday 9am, and it was £12 for 9 holes.
