Old course lovely
Not much grass on the fairway dry summer. Hard holes small fairways as you would expect from an old course. True greens, £25.00 after 4pm played well today net 69 well pleased. Thorpness is a nice place to visit boating lake, cafes, windmill, house in the clouds. And the sea.(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 82 Handicap: 12.4)

We had a 2 night stay with 2 rounds of golf.The course was in very good condition and the fairways were running, which is fine if you hit it straight , but heather and very prickly gorse awaits the errant shots.Bunkers are fairly deep, Greens , fast. A good time was had by all.

Welcome Relief.
If you play golf in Essex then this is a must for you in the winter months. January 21st 2018 was the first time I had played here and the weather freezing cold and sleet, the following day was brilliant sunshine and warm for the time of year. Both days I came in without any mud on my shoes, my trousers were not covered in mud and I could use my electric trolley without damaging the course. All in all well worth a visit.(Round played: Jan 2018 - Score: 86 Handicap: 15.9)

The weather for early March was excellent sunny, dry and 15. Degrees. No wind, course in good condition , greens very quick. Good accommodation and food. Friendly and helpful staff. Particularly Claire and Jack.

It's been called " cute but brutal " , which sums it up completely.The fairways are fairly wide,but stray off them at your peril , gorse and heather await. The lies on the fairways are very tight and the ball runs a long way , and not always in a straight line . Many , many bunkers on the fairways and around the greens, and they are deep. The greens are very fast. The hotel is very welcoming and the staff are very friendly.

It rained on our first day but all greens were playable. Course was well drained, really had a lovely 2 days here

Nice links course. Fairways and greens in excellent condition. Some very challenging holes. Plenty of bunkers that can be quite challenging.
