What The Club Says
Founded in 1984 Aldeburgh Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs in suffoldk and is seperated from the tidal Alde estuary by an unusual strip of maritime heathland.
The Championship Course at 6,603 yards but with no par fives on the men's card is a substantial challenge for even the best golfer. Every hole presents an examination in shotmaking and accuracy; a stroke given away to the course is difficult to recover. It is also a beautiful place to play golf. The views of the River Alde and glimpses of the North Sea, grey one day blue another, are enough to raise the spirits even when the score is not quite up to expectation.
The River Course has nine holes in a beautiful setting overlooking the River Alde. It has a par of 32 with an interesting mix of Par 3s and 4s with no bunkers but with the natural hazards of fine old pine trees, gorse and broom.

Great Championship Golf Course
Played Alderburgh recently in an NCG top 100\'s Tour event, the course exceeded my expectations, found it a really great test of golf. The greens were true but not too quick, fairways in excellent condition, but it does play long when the wind get up and although the fairways are generally forgiving enough for you to score well a bad shot will be punished severely should you go into any of the gorse that lines most of the fairways, all in all it is a proper championship golf course and you will need to be on your game to score well. Will definitely returnReviewer Rating

Good test for any golfer.
Excellent condition despite the dry time of year. Good variety of holes even though there are no par 5's, good test for any golfer.Reviewer Rating

Good condition if not a little boring
Not bad for a practice round but not a proper 9 hole course. No par 5?s, drivable greens on par 4?s, no bunkers doesn't leave for much of a challenge. Hospitality was good and all the staff were friendly.Reviewer Rating

Excellent Course!
Course was in fantastic condition. Obviously soaks up all the rain.Fairways are excellent and the greens were in great condition too given the time of year and recent rain.
Bunkers were perfect with the right amount of sand.
Tee boxes perfectly manicured.
Even though the par of 68 and no par 5's means you play a lot of par 4's I felt like there was a good variety. Some very well placed bunkers.
Would imagine this course would probably be a lot more challenging in the summer.
Don't be put off by the green fee or 2 ball/foresomes rule. Really is worth a visit!
