A few nice par 3's over water and some narrow par 5's make this a good test. The format for the 18th is silly for the last hole, would be fairer in the middle of the round but overall a nice course.

Noisy
Greens lovely.Everything else horrible.
I don’t think anything had been cut for months.
The m25 noise drive you mad.
So fairways so long they look like rough.

Mr
Today’s visit to Thorney Park was ok. But only a tad better than last months. It’s just not my cup of tea.
Possible the worst course I’ve played for a while. Some of the worm areas as just huge.
The 17th hole looks like a building site.

The greens required some TLC, while the fairways were a little rough around the edges.

Noisy and parallel
Payed a decent £20 for a late afternoon round. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were all looking very good indeed, but apart from the 7th par 3, not many holes were that memorable. 3, 4, 5, and 6, and then 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 all run alongside each other up and down which gets a bit boring. Found the 18th to be a bit of a disappointing finish as well, set away from the clubhouse, the 9th would make for a better closing hole. There can also be quite a lot of background noise from the M25 motorway, planes from Heathrow and the Great Western Railway. Staff were pleasant enough, but seems a bit of a stupid idea to require a key code to get out of a very standard car park. Had a lot of similarities I feel to Richings Park just a few minutes down the road, but RP offers a bit more of an exciting round.Reviewer Rating
