Exceptional!!!!

This review is long overdue!
I cannot recommend Stowmarket Golf Club enough, including the course and Jon Markham, the head professional. I have been a member for three years now and have also been part of five other clubs, giving me a well-informed perspective to share.

The club - The facilities and staff are exceptional, fulfilling all the expectations of a member. Both on and off the course, the staff are always eager to assist and provide excellent service.

The course - A picturesque parkland course that is consistently maintained to a superb standard. The grounds staff deserve commendation for their year-round dedication, ensuring every aspect from tee to green is impeccable. The greens, in particular, deserve special mention. Thank you for your efforts.

Jon Markham - Let me highlight the extraordinary nature of this individual! Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of having over a dozen lessons with Jon. Not only is he a remarkable golf coach, but also an exceptional person. His enthusiasm, encouragement, and positivity in communicating ways to improve are unmatched. He personifies a humble expert, and his genuine eagerness to help keeps you connected. Jon Markham is undoubtedly an invaluable asset to Stowmarket Golf Club.

Kudos to everyone for your outstanding work! While members may not express it frequently enough, your efforts truly make a significant impact on every visitor's experience.

Suffolks Best Parkland?

For me, I think this is the best parkland in Suffolk.

Everytime I play I find a different test. The layout and variety of the holes is great and I have always found it to be in great condition too. You will find trees if you are wayward from the tee but as long as you play sensible you can still make pars.

The 4th is great as too the 17th.

Always getting better too.

Best Suffolk Parkland

Stowmarket is the best parkland in Suffolk.

The rolling hills - especially on the back 9 - make for a challenging but fun game and some of the views are great.

The 4th hole - a 245 yard par 3 - plays downhill so getting the right club/line is key. The course is tight in places with tree lined fiarway's and well placed bunkers. The greens are also a good defence as they are slick and tough to read. One or two have a lot of slope too.

Its a great course and a fair test of golf for all abilities.

Best Suffolk Parkland

For me, the best parkland course in Suffolk.

The course has a great layout and is always is excellent condition, the addition of drainage on some of the greens has really help it during the wet months.

The par 3 4th is a best at nearly 250 yards.

It does feel tight in places but you'll have to be really silly to not be able to rescue something if off line. The greens are small which is great for honing those approach shots and the greens are tricky to read.

Should be enjoyed by players of all abilities.

Best Parkland

Stunning Parkland course and the best of its kind in the area.

The layout is challenging but fair, some of the holes will have you thinking off the tee - especially the 247 yard par 3!

Course is forgiving and fair meaning that golfers of all abilities will enjoy the challenge and during the summer this course will give nay a run for its money.

Some lovely views too.

Lovely course in excellent condition

Very good course, wide fairways with very little rough. Greens very quick, and challenging, with bunkers very strategically placed.

Stunning Parkland

One of Suffolks finest parkland courses.

Stowmarket is always is amazing condition, the greens are some of the best around.

The course is quite tight off the tee but if you do end up in trouble as long as you are sensible you can still make a score.

Watch out for the 4th - the 248 yard par 3 - is so much fun.

Stow has such a fun layout with no 2 holes the same and anyone golfer of any ability will enjoy their visit here.

First time at Stow- Will be back

I only live 15 miles from Stowmarket but had never played the course. Received a warm welcome and a fantastic full English breakfast.
Considering the lack of rain recently I felt that the course was in excellent condition with the fairways in good order and true and fast greens.
Personally preferred the front 9 as it had a little more variety than the back 9.
I felt the course was well laid out and easy for a first timer to see where the next tee box was.
There were a few blind shots which is fine so I'm confident on a second visit that I could knock a few shots off what I scored today. The course is a parkland course which was a nice change from my normal links style course.
Had a couple of nice drinks in the excellent clubhouse afterwards.
Will definitely be back.

Always in good condition, you can see that the members and ground staff are proud and look after this place. Course played a little easier down to warm weather and no wind. Looks a lovely place to enjoy memebership

Top quality Parkland.

One of Suffolk's finest.

Great layout and excellent variety of holes from a 250 yard par 3 to the 450 yard par 4 17th!.

The course is always in fantastic condition and new drainage work means it stays dryer in the winter months.

Fairly forgiving off the tee and if you do go off line more often than not you will be able to get in back in play.

Greens are superb all year round.

A top track.
