What the club says: The 9 hole course is the “icing on the cake” for the venue that has the complete golfing experience and the construction of new tees means that shortly there will be 18 different tees offering even more variety.

Maturing nicely since its completion, the course made up of par 3’s and par 4’s totaling just over 2000 yards presents a tough but fair challenge to golfers of all ability as it winds its way through the lakes.

Shot making and sound course management will be required to negotiate the course successfully with water coming into play on no less than seven of the nine holes. Big hitters will have to think carefully before opening their shoulders as landing areas at long distance are tight to say the least. The need for accuracy will far out weigh the need for length as you will see from the moment you step onto the first tee. Generous size greens should be easy enough to hit but all are undulating and contain subtle borrows that will take time to learn.

Good course

Good course with variety for a 9 with different tee boxes. Some fairways were boggy but rain had been heavy. Forced mat on 17 wasn't great, but aside from that, pleasure to play, with a variety of challenges and excellent pricing

Good testing course

Lots of water, but that makes it challenging and fun. Second half is the same holes, but from different tee positions. Nonetheless, very enjoyable.

Par 64 but what it lacks in length is makes up for in hazards. There are water hazards at a third of the holes. The requirement at this course is not "brute strength" but accuracy from the tee. It is a great course for the beginner who quickly learns how to move the ball in a straight line.

After some very wet weeks over the winter & spring, a lot of work has brought the course back to a good standard. Greens are good but hard to read well. The moles seem to have been sent packing as well!!

I played here last weekend(18/8/13) and the course was packed! The course was in great condition and a real treat to play. The round took a while, due to the course being so busy but that wasn't a problem. The greens were true and lush as were the surrounds. IMO these rival most others in Ipswich that I've played this summer. Im playing there again this weekend and intend to make a day of it as the 18 hole fee (£18) allows you to play all day - BARGAIN!!!! Even cheaper midweek I think?!

We played this weekend 27/05/2013. The course, I'm sorry to say is awful. The 'T' positions have long grass so your ball doesn't sit on the 'T'. There are 2 mats to hit from and they've been there for years. The fairways were like semi rough a d had not been mowed. For the £18 each we payed we were very disappointed. We won't be going there again anytime soon. There are far better courses in the Ipswich area for less money.

A really good nine holer, and a pretty challenging one at that! Water is everywhere and even on a couple of the holes that may look a bit easier, the presence of water makes you think twice about the shot that you are going to hit. More than that, the greens are kept really well considering that it is a stand alone 9hole.

This is a brand new 9 hole course (May 2007) but do not be fooled by the score card stats, Oh and bring plenty of balls and a wet suit, very testing for levels of golf, this course will seek out the bandit!!

A new course, only opened May 2007, but certainly does not play like one. The greens are plush, and with almost every hole involving water (the course is part of the Suffolk Water Park), it is a challenge for any golfer.
The fact it is only 9 holes does not put me off, and the 2nd/11th plays from a different tee depending on what hole you are playing. The 11th adds an extra 75 yards by teeing off over the water.
Feature hole for me is the 8th. A 324 yard tight par 4, with water down both sides waiting to gobble up the slightly wayward tee shots. Even a straight tee shot will find itself amongst some very large mounds.
I would recommend this course to anyone, and it is only going to get better - and therefore more expensive - in the months and years to come.
