Good local course

Superb value. Not a difficult course but the 5th green can be a real card wrecker. The greens and bunkers were in great condition but fairways less so (due to weather). There's no water on the course, which is a bonus. Am told that it is rarely shut due to waterlogging as drainage is excellent.

Played St Clements for the first time last week. Short but interesting; most holes are tree-lined and most fairways well bunkered. A couple of the fairways were a bit scratty but mostly OK; the greens were in particularly good condition. An over-abundance of very short par-4s but a couple of them are quite tight and require focus. But beware if you are thinking it is too easy - the round finishes with back-to-back par 3s that are both >200yds. Due to limited space, the varying of tees on each hole to give variety between front and back 9s is not always possible, but there is a marked difference and good variety on 1/10, 4/13, and 9/18. Lack of facilities lets it down, but the members I met before and during my round were very friendly.

Private course in good condition with excellent greens, could see improvements being made as I played my round. No personnel to pay green fees to and had to phone greenkeeper to make payment but he was fair to the group when he took their monies
