What the club says: Stowmarket is a mature course, with a wide variety of trees that provides a wonderful spectrum of colour throughout the changing seasons.
At 6107 yards, Stowmarket is a par 69 that is rarely beaten, even by the most accomplished of players.
It is challenging enough for the English Golf Union to designate it as a "Centre of Excellence" to use on a regular basis to develop and train the county's best Junior Golfers.

Challenging Course
The course is challenging, straight tee shots are a must here. But the challenge is why we play! Facilities at Stowmarket are great, very clean, very spacious and welcoming. Will definitely return.(Round played: Feb 2022 - Score: 111 Handicap: 30)

Suffolks Best Parkland?
For me, I think this is the best parkland in Suffolk.Everytime I play I find a different test. The layout and variety of the holes is great and I have always found it to be in great condition too. You will find trees if you are wayward from the tee but as long as you play sensible you can still make pars.
The 4th is great as too the 17th.
Always getting better too.

Great course and club
Really nice course and lay out is good. Fairly open so not overly challenging in areas. Gives you more confidence with the driver which is good.Club house, restaurant and bar is well stocked and food has always been good when eaten there.
Pro shop is really well stocked up, and friendly staff.
Practise areas look well maintained.

Best Suffolk Parkland
Stowmarket is the best parkland in Suffolk. The rolling hills - especially on the back 9 - make for a challenging but fun game and some of the views are great.
The 4th hole - a 245 yard par 3 - plays downhill so getting the right club/line is key. The course is tight in places with tree lined fiarway's and well placed bunkers. The greens are also a good defence as they are slick and tough to read. One or two have a lot of slope too.
Its a great course and a fair test of golf for all abilities.

great parkland course and very friendly
course was in good condition considering the horrendous weather we had in the area of suffolk the week before. Not the longest course you will ever play but does have one of the longest par 3's with the 4th measuring 246 yards or thereabouts. still a good test of golf and the greens are a real challenge.Reviewer Rating

Best Suffolk Parkland
For me, the best parkland course in Suffolk. The course has a great layout and is always is excellent condition, the addition of drainage on some of the greens has really help it during the wet months.
The par 3 4th is a best at nearly 250 yards.
It does feel tight in places but you'll have to be really silly to not be able to rescue something if off line. The greens are small which is great for honing those approach shots and the greens are tricky to read.
Should be enjoyed by players of all abilities.

Best Parkland
Stunning Parkland course and the best of its kind in the area. The layout is challenging but fair, some of the holes will have you thinking off the tee - especially the 247 yard par 3!
Course is forgiving and fair meaning that golfers of all abilities will enjoy the challenge and during the summer this course will give nay a run for its money.
Some lovely views too.
