Easter ???? weekend
Nice hotel golf getaway. The weather was wet all weekend but the course itself is great . Very hilly but ideal for long drives. Wide fairways, Driving range practice putting green excellent club house pool just ideal for friends and families.Reviewer Rating

Played in Oct 2011, given previous days rain the course was in excellent condition with lush fairways, true and responsive greens and all round very well maintained.

Nice course, poor organisation.
Love this course, but the Marshall stopped after 2.30pm. Pace of play dropped horribly. 5 hour round. On 9th tee, which is shared with 28th, there were 3 groups. Nobody teed off on 18 for 20 minutes. Marshall should have been out speeding up the slow groups causing the slow play.

This course is worth visiting
The course was in very good condition but the greens were very slow I think they needed a cut and I understand the course and Hostel have been sold.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 93 Handicap: 19.5)

Pretty course
Very nice course in a nice location. Greens a little slow but good condition and would take a ball into them even though it had been dry. Good mixture of holes. Bunkers could do with more sand but facilities are very good with driving range, putting green and chipping area.Reviewer Rating

ok at best
Difficult to write a fair review in such challenging times for everyone. Course looked nice, had been cut and with the sun out, looked very appealling, Greens were painfull slow.....think slow, then double it !!The hotel is in need of a bit on renovation, the rooms are pretty small, esp if your in a twin . The restaurant was a little disappointing, arguably one of the poorest calvery i've ever seen. One meat option (pork loin) breakfast belonged in a motorway service station.
Played the Sunday and bank holiday monday, a fairly large group had been thrown out the hotel and for 45 mins the first tee was completley empty - but no one thought to offer us the earlier option - as such, got stuck behind a four ball that clearly weren't in a hurry to get back home to the missus. nothing but empty course in front of them, but never seemed to worry about people behind.
But I think the most disappointing thing about this venue - their prices are just stupid. the bars were almost empty, and you only have to order a drink to find out why...... 3 drinks (spirits and mixers) £19:80 Really ??
Took some non golfers with us - but all the leisure facilities were out of use - no one could say why, other than covid - even though every other hotel didn't have a problem opening them up.
It's an ok venue - set in beautiful countryside, but one that I won't go back too.

Fairly slow round due to a large society in front which cannot be helped.
Overall hotel is very well set up for a golf weekend.

Huge bunkers are a test if you're not used to american style courses.
If you go at weekend they seem to pair you up to make a fourball as commented on below. Greens still playing slow also.

Good variety of holes, bunkers in good nick, greens pretty fast.
Not much water but mature parkland, that said, away from the fairway you'll usually have a shot on.
Club shop being refitted at moment, but range good and place pretty friendly.
Went to get food between front and back 9 and didn't get any service, but other than that strongly recommended.

Played here as part of the 2011 Golfshake Open, fairways were lush, green slick and course well maintained and especially so given it was the end of October! Walks aren't as bad as some reviews suggest and our groups got round in under 4 hours 20 mins.
