An 18 hole, par 71, private, parkland golf course designed by Herbert Fowler and opened in July 1914. One of the friendliest golf clubs in Surrey and also open to visitors. Located near East Croydon.

Nice course hidden in the hub bub of Croydon
Before the lockdown, managed to play this course after the rains of winter. Was in very good nick though the greens were a little slow compared to Addington Palace which I played the day before. Some challenging holes especially the par 5 12th. A very tricky hole and deserves to be the SI 1 hole. Will be looking to visit again later in the year. Clubhouse was already closed except the Stud Bar. Pro shop was open and looked fairly well stocked.Reviewer Rating

Top course fairways and greens were best I’ve played this year , good challenge with some lovely holes

Always a pleasure
Shirley never fail. Always in great conditions and the staff and mike the pga are excellent. A gem just outside Croydon(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 93 Handicap: 22.4)

Great course

Nice course
Well worth a visit. Some very interesting holes in a layout that makes the most of the geography. Quite a few blind tee shots. Greens in excellent condition. Very welcoming Pro and club house staff.(Round played: Nov 2017 - Score: 96 Handicap: 14.5)

Played as part of a corporate date, I had never played the course before. I thought it was a very good gold course with interesting doglegs and elevation changes on many holes. The course was in good condition, despite the fact that there had been no rain for a few weeks until the day that we played, other courses I have played recently have been far browner.
I would definitely play there again given the opportunity.

I have mixed feelings about this course having played it a number of times over the past few months as a guest of new members.
Plays nicely in wet conditions although pace of play can be a problem at times with hackers particularly at peak times on the weekend.
Clubhouse is good and has good food for reasonable price, although one of our group was questioned on his attire so make sure to bring your long trousers or wear proper socks instead.
