What the club says: The challenging Championship course was designed in 1932 and has the feel of a long established and challenging course. If you don’t feel quite up to the demands of the 9 hole course or the Championship course, why not try the 18 hole Falconwood course that will test your golfing skills.

Course benefitting from recent work
Course is playing well with good shots rewarded but poor shots not overly punished with the felling of some trees and clearing of undergrowth to aid air flow and improve state of tees and greensReviewer Rating

Still value in the conditions
The recent weather had meant that some holes in particular were muddy but the greens were generally running true and the course is certainly playing more open with the cutting back of more trees and areas under the treesReviewer Rating

Sorry state
Starting here, the guy at the driving range counter warned me of the sorry state of most of the greens. They had unfortunately been vandalised repeatedly over the past few months. That was a sad way to start the day, but it was annoying as we had called prior to our round to book and the person advised this course as it has better drainage than the championship course. The tee boxes were well worn, fairways were decent and the layout was nice. The greens were damaged, as warned, the marks weren't fully filled and the greens look like they need a bit of love too.
I?d come back to the course iin the future but would advise asking about the greens.
The official clubhouse is nicely decorated but the food options was small and had limited choice.

Old Favourite
This is an old favourite as it is very good value for those who want to play golf on a limited budget, despite the vandalism that it suffers being near to a council estate it was in very good condition given the amount of foot traffic and abuse that it receives.Reviewer Rating

Short, interesting course with some greens vandalism
Short but interesting course, much better value than the course over the road although its proximity to an estate unfortunately means that a few of the greens have been vandalised. Aside from the greens damage and some industrial bunkers, the course is in good condition. It's clay based so prone to muddiness although being reasonably hilly reduces the impact. Avoid the trees as finding balls in the ivy is difficult.Reviewer Rating

Wet weather has meant a muddy course
Course is playing longer and there are certain holes that are not fun to play in such muddy conditions. Decision to ban buggies probably a week or so too late given the damage caused by some idiotic users.Reviewer Rating

Good value for money
Course in decent conditions in parts, weekend had no maintenance on and tees were pretty well chopped up but think the course attracts the more casual player. Makes for a nice atmosphere and willingness to let faster groups play through etc, much more positive than other courses in South London.Reviewer Rating

Course I used to play a lot in my teens. Has matured over the 40 years. Bumpy greens and shabby tees but Fairways and rough in good nick and though fairly short a good test. Well placed bunkers.Reviewer Rating

Work undertaken has improved the course
Just played the Championship course for the first time this year and it played well with good running on the fairways and the greens were firm and true. They have done a fair bit of tidying up to the course since I last played it with the under tree foliage cut back around the course giving it a more open feel.
The bunkers (at least the ones I found) also have more sand in them which helps.
Definitely worth a visit and good value

Short and interesting but some damaged greens
Less muddy than the more expensive course over the road. Still some of the greens are damaged by vandals (human and animal), however most of the greens are actually in good condition. Fairways in better condition than a lot of courses after the persistent rain.Reviewer Rating
