Nice course and lovely people
Very friendly welcome by pro shop lady and a most enjoyable round. Course is hilly and in the heat of July, wished we had booked a buggy, but would thoroughly recommend.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 108 Handicap: 23.2)

This could be a great course. Lovely setting. Some excellent long undulating par 5s, tough par 3s with raised greens and dog leg par 4s. Accessible for the high handicapper without being too easy. Totally let down by the poor state of the greens, tee boxes and bunkers. Greens were being hollow tined but were also patchy, bare and bumpy. Putting was a total lottery. The tee boxes were not flat and in terrible condition. Shame as could be such a good course. £40 for the round was cheeky for the state of the course.Reviewer Rating

Well designed testing course
Great course, very well designed and interesting layout. Lots of interest from the contours, raised greens, elevated tees playing over valleys, sharp doglegs, sloping greens etc. Fairways were obviously parched from the recent hot spell but greens well watered. This course is quite testing for the high handicapper mainly because of the large number of bunkers which are strategically placed. Also it's very up and down so good exercise on a hot day when carrying bag. I played on a Sunday afternoon and had the course to myself on the front nine before getting stuck behind some hotel guests on the back nine. Nice finish in front of the grand old Victorian hotel.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 106 Handicap: 23.9)

Played on a society day. Course in decent nick. Sand seems a bit odd in bunkers but plays well. Greens were far quicker than when I've played it previously. Interesting course in decent nick overall. Decent meal after the round in the hotel.

The course was in great shape from tee box to fairway to greens. Bunkers were in some very good with plenty of sand to bunkers with a lot of stones in them. Can't wait to play it again.

Always think it is a shame this is Par 73 - they should just make the 1st a par 4 or the 13th a par 3. Still, the course was in great condition, and it is hilly which provides some interesting lies.

One of my all time best public courses. I love the balanced set of par 5,4 and 3 holes including the beautifully contoured course. The greens are near perfect for a public course and the vast openness of the course makes it a challenging albeit great course to play.

Excellent course. Well laid out & in great condition. Only 6100 yds off the yellows, but it's a long 6100 yds! Hotel OK, needs a bit of a facelift, food OK, service was average
