Good course, but...
Generally a very good course to play, especially in the summer months. However the course is susceptible to boggy slippery areas once the weather turns wetter, especially the back nine. Desperately needs some paths building to improve the experience and enable play in wetter conditions

The course is challenging and generally kept in good condition during the summer months. Too much of the rough is completely untended and virtually impossible to play out of even if you are able to find your ball. This is surprising as it is so easily remedy with the added benefit that it would speed up play.

A round of two halves
I've played the Seely course many times over the years. A largely flat front 9, gives way to a back 9 designed for a mountain goat. I always enjoy playing here, but you need to make sure you take advantage of the easier front 9, as the back 9 really tests your mettle. A really good range of holes, including several tough par 3s, but the par5 13th is an absolute brute; I try and play it as a or 6 , and rarely achieve that !

This course is in very good condition. It offers a real challenge and some excellent scenery. Fairway shots on the back nine need particular care, and skill, as you frequently find yourself on a sloping lie. The main negative is the the very dense rough which makes finding a ball very difficult and playing out equally difficult.

A Challenging Course
Varied and challenging course. Some of the rough is very rough or totally unplayable which slows up play. Otherwise a good course.

Goog local course
Nice course with excellent clubhouse and food facilities. Front 9 are flat and easier than the more hilly back 9 which begins with a steep climb to the 10th Tee

Course was in decent condition but the greens were a little uneven in places and patches were very wet.

Public pay as you play course
PlayMore.Golf site for 2017 - So after a 65 mile drive, first impressions OK - pirates section, loud and noisy. green free £26 for a Friday - PMG £20 with the matrix after 11am. pro shop and clubhouse really nice and well laid out.
Driving range for a quick warm up with a putting green to the front, first tee I honestly thought why have a drove this far for this, but to be fair the course was peaceful and well laid out and in excellent condition, front 9 fairly flat but you need to put the ball in the right area, back nine up and down and really windy.
Back nine is the best nine for me, greens were excellent and all seemed to be paced the same.
Ben in the office was really helpful with the booking, being early stages of there agreement with PMG system

Course was in poor condition due to the heavy rain. Areas were really boggy and greens had gathering water. Greens played fair and weather stayed dry which was a bonus. Clubhouse facilities are excellent.
