Excellent course

The improvements made over the last couple of years have made this course even better. Par 3's are all varied, keep your drives straight you can make good score here, wander and you in trouble. Amenities are very good, staff friendly.

Excellent All Round

The course is in excellent condition and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Pace of play was slightly slower than expected but this was due to several 4 balls ahead of us as a 2 ball.

It's a tough course, some challenging holes. Looking forward to the redesigned course to be fully open.

Not worth the £36 it’s advertised at for a morning weekend round, course still needs plenty of improvement to be worth that, saying that greens were in good condition.

Played 3rd May, after playing in March and enjoyed the course then, I must admit I was a little disappointed on my return. Really like the layout but felt on this occasion the course was playing a a little under par. Greens were slow and bobbly and still had not recovered from winter and the bunkers a little untidy and a few holding water. Still great value 2ball for 26 and will be back in summer. Staff friendly.

Lovely course

I've always enjoyed playing here. Played about 4 times now over the last 3 years & although quite hilly in places, i've always found it to be a tough but fair course

Great course but ruined by slow play!

Played in a 3 ball and teed off at 11.00am - Didn?t get done until just before 4.00pm! We were continually stuck behind slow players the whole way round. I can respect the fact that some players are slower than others, but having no concern about play behind and perhaps all 4 players didn?t need to stop by the side of each persons shot before moving to their own. If I played there again I?d definitely make sure there wasn?t a ladies society on right before.

First visit to oakmere. Played the admiral’s course and was very pleased with the layout. I thought the fairway bunker positioning and design was very impressive as i couldn’t just get the driver and 3 wood out, you have to think about positioning, similar with the greens with one side protected by bunkers and the other with run offs. The course was in very good condition for 1st March the greens on the whole ran smooth and a couple that was a little worn in the shade had been handcut to protect them. Excellent experience with some memorable holes and will be back in the summer. 26 quid for a 2 ball also very good value.

Oakmere park Commanders course

A very nice testing 9 hole course made into 18 holes by having two different tees on each hole. Excellent value for money in lovely countryside. A well drained course played all through the winter with no temporary greens.

I have just left oakmere having been a member for several years. Loved the coarse, but recently somehow lost its way. Fortune spent on new bunkers etc, looked really good but after one season they are back to their shabby look. Fairways were being cut when there was no grass, to me that is a waste of time and energy when other areas needed attention, the effect it was having on the fairways was a further compaction of the soil which would have an adverse effect. We did bring this up in conversation but I believe members are not listened to. Sad really

New layout is a big improvement, greens in good condition. Last two holes a four ball appeared sharing clubs out of 2 bags and 1 buggy.
