What the club says: ADMIRALS COURSE - 6754 yds. Par 73
Our 18 hole course, named after Admiral Sherbrooke V.C., consists of rolling, undulating Heathland terrain. Recently redesigned by Mackenzie & Ebert ( Turnberry,Port Rush etc).17 of the 18 holes have been completed as part of the re-design with the final hole due to start work winter 2018.
COMMANDERS COURSE - 5433 yds
Our 9 hole course, named after Commander Mortensen, is a championship length course of 5433yds with a par of 68. Designed with 9 greens and 2 sets of tees enabling the golfer to play the course as an 18 hole course. The 2nd set of tees offer the golfer a totally different challenge on the back 9 holes. The layout has also be changed by Mackenzie & Ebert in 2017
What Golfshake says: Admirals - A very links feel about it, not long with ball posistion being key for a good score.

Always a good day
I have played oakmere quite a few times over the years I've never had cause to complain about anything the pro shop is very accommodating with the tee times the courses always play well the commanders nine hole course even as the cheaper course to play is always in great condition the club house is welcoming and the food is excellent.Reviewer Rating

Very Good condition and layout.
Course was in really good condition given the recent weather conditions. Greens were a touch slow but in good condition.Very disappointed that the kitchen was closed, particularly on a Seniors Open Day!

Oakmere Admirals course
Played this course for the second time, many years apart, and thoroughly enjoyed it. (Again). The course is rather challenging and has a varied landscape, giving all levels of player, a good workout.
Would definitely recommend and play again.

Could be amazing with some more TLC
This is my third time playing this course and each time I am left slightly bewildered on a few fronts, mainly on how they have formed the SI's on holes; why its scruffy in places; why the front nine greens are ropey but the back nine greens are amazing; how it commands the advertised ?52 at weekends as its a ?25-35 course no more and finally, why somebody doesn't do something about all these things. The course layout is fantastic in places and normal in other places, but what really baffles me as a single figure handicapper is how some holes are extremely low SI's yet very easy and some very hard holes are high SI's. It means from a society point of view people do not attend as they get their shots on easy holes not hard ones. Does the course need regrading ? The range, pro shop, putting green and catering are all great and give the course a very professional feel. The first hole on the Admiral Course can ruin your life or make you feel like ten men if you power one down the distant fairway. My favourite holes are 7, 14, 16 and I do like the craziness of hole 10 but always manage to mess it up. Overall, having paid ?28 on a Monday we felt the course was still overpriced but mainly because the greens need work, the course needs tidying up to command better money. I know money and funding is at a premium, but maybe you could make a point of gaining views from visitors on the course after play and whether they would pay the higher rates to play it again. For me Ramsdale and Springwater down the road offer better all round packages and value.Reviewer Rating

Brilliant course
A brilliant course and a great challenge. The opening hole is just stunning. A warm welcome was gratefully received, well fed and watered, excellent shop and the value was good. The course was in a nice if not dry condition, the greens were fast and tricky as were the holes themselves, they did seem to be slightly crowned, which meant slow putts ran away most of the time, but didn't distract from a cracking visit. Will certainly return.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 94 Handicap: 18.7)
