was once a great course, money now dictates I guess, kids riding bikes over greens and in bunkers, however the deals you can get offset this if you just fancy a quick round, mind the dog walkers though!!!

This course is an interesting test of golf in a lovely setting but has many downsides. No rakes in the bunkers, continuous disruption by the public as its a public park, general poor condition on and around the greens.
The course requires key club selection of the tee but once you find the fairways it was a lottery to the lie you would receive. I don't know if this course is normally in better condition but bearing in mind its holding The Bournemouth Open shortly its needs severe improvement.

course is good and challenging only problem is dog walkers, hikers, walkers and joggers everywhere and they do get in the way and dog mess in places on the putting green and fairways not bad value for money at £15 a round

Course was rather wet in places which didn't help my game. Didn't help that I through away shots as well. Overall it was a good day out

If you're having an off say on the tee, this course is tough. Have only played here once and the number of unsighted shots (1st tee) mean a lot of guesswork and hoping for the best. Feels much longer than the yardage suggests. Course not in fantastic condition either. Was only £10 for a round though.

Played twice in two weeks. Course OK but greens are pitted with a fungus. Green keepers were out cutting the fairways! WHY? The grass is not growing yet, just making a mess!

I played here in November, very windy and very wet weather! I was a little dissapointed in this course to be honest. Although there were some nice interesting holes, it all seemed a little untidy for my tastes! But, it could be just the affect of the weather! I'll play it in the summer and re-review it!

Played this course recently on a tour of local clubs and have to say this was a disappointment compared to the rest. The course was a lovely layout, however, the condition was way below par.

Sorry to say but my local course leaves alot to be desired, although I have played it often, I just wish it was better value for money.

The recent alterations to the 3rd & 4th holes making them a mere shadow of their former selves

Open course, interesting hills and vales

They've just treated the greens, so not a good time to judge these. Very quiet in terms of golfing on the course on the early afternoon. An open course, mainly straightforward, but with some hidden dips that can catch one unawares. The only drawback is that members of the public have many walking routes across the course which, together with dogs, will hold golfers up at times. Disappointed that they didn't show apparent awareness of golfers or show appreciation when we waited patiently for them. But golf enjoyable anyway.

Decent value challenge

My second visit to Queens Park but the first was 25 years ago and I don't remember that far back! Played at 5pm on Saturday evening and barely saw another golfer; mine was the last tee time. Playing as a single I got round all 18 holes in 2 hours 40 mins, so pace was good. I did however see quite a few people, either out walking or with their dog(s). I know a lot of reviewers found the public access to the course a real pain but I was mentally prepared for this which helped, and everyone I spoke to was friendly. That said, twice I had to ask people to move out the way which isn't ideal and it would be annoying if I played here regularly for sure. I was a bit concerned about a couple of blind shots that I might hit someone, especially at the first hole but thankfully I didn't.

The course itself is relatively short but I only used my driver 3 times, despite it being my favourite club, as the fairways were firm, the holes mostly pretty tight and often with very little rough before the trees/bushes, plus I didn't know the layout. Keep it straight and you can score well here though.

The condition of the fairways was ok for late August on such a public track, and the greens were fine without being anything special, but I wasn't expecting them to be. The bunkers mostly looked pretty terrible in condition. It feels like a bit of an old school design, which I quite enjoyed, with some blind shots and clever use of elevation changes to fool your eye, especially for a first time visitor. Mostly it looks quite nice too with some pine trees and heather around. Hard to imagine the European Tour played here but that was 40 odd years ago I believe, and a lot has changed in golf since then I guess. There was a small pro shop, bar and practice putting green but no other facilities.

Overall, I might come back one day, especially if I need a quick, cheap-ish round. I did enjoy it but I'm not local and there are so many better courses to visit locally, albeit for a little more money.

The course is still worth playing but beware the fact that you come across the general public out for a stroll. Greens were in good condition and with the recent rainfall the fairways were in fair/good order.
