First time playing here, greens was very good. A challenging course and tight in places. One slight problem was the public walking about without a care in the world. Found holes 10-14 hard!!!

Good course that would have been excellent in its time, but still with plenty of challenges and punishing wayward drives. I had no idea so many people owned dogs in Bournemouth but only 1 decided to move my ball. Overall well worth the fee.

Regardless of course conditioning, you can play this course for a tenner most of the time so can't complain.
What you should expect if you play the course is people walking their dogs down the fairways, across the greens, as well as along the paths which intersects the course and not really pay any attention to golfers.

The course itself is similar to Meyrick Park in that you can see the potential in the course if they could get the funding. The layout is very good.
The course is in satisfactory condition and the greens are good really. A few of the bunkers have a few small stones and that in, but you would expect that for £10!
You can see the original back tees on some of the holes in which Seve and co used years ago, they are redundant and grown over now as I guess the clientele of the course would have not hope from some of them as they would add serious yardage to the holes.
I did enjoy playing here actually and would play it again for the price.

Open course, interesting hills and vales

They've just treated the greens, so not a good time to judge these. Very quiet in terms of golfing on the course on the early afternoon. An open course, mainly straightforward, but with some hidden dips that can catch one unawares. The only drawback is that members of the public have many walking routes across the course which, together with dogs, will hold golfers up at times. Disappointed that they didn't show apparent awareness of golfers or show appreciation when we waited patiently for them. But golf enjoyable anyway.

Decent value challenge

My second visit to Queens Park but the first was 25 years ago and I don't remember that far back! Played at 5pm on Saturday evening and barely saw another golfer; mine was the last tee time. Playing as a single I got round all 18 holes in 2 hours 40 mins, so pace was good. I did however see quite a few people, either out walking or with their dog(s). I know a lot of reviewers found the public access to the course a real pain but I was mentally prepared for this which helped, and everyone I spoke to was friendly. That said, twice I had to ask people to move out the way which isn't ideal and it would be annoying if I played here regularly for sure. I was a bit concerned about a couple of blind shots that I might hit someone, especially at the first hole but thankfully I didn't.

The course itself is relatively short but I only used my driver 3 times, despite it being my favourite club, as the fairways were firm, the holes mostly pretty tight and often with very little rough before the trees/bushes, plus I didn't know the layout. Keep it straight and you can score well here though.

The condition of the fairways was ok for late August on such a public track, and the greens were fine without being anything special, but I wasn't expecting them to be. The bunkers mostly looked pretty terrible in condition. It feels like a bit of an old school design, which I quite enjoyed, with some blind shots and clever use of elevation changes to fool your eye, especially for a first time visitor. Mostly it looks quite nice too with some pine trees and heather around. Hard to imagine the European Tour played here but that was 40 odd years ago I believe, and a lot has changed in golf since then I guess. There was a small pro shop, bar and practice putting green but no other facilities.

Overall, I might come back one day, especially if I need a quick, cheap-ish round. I did enjoy it but I'm not local and there are so many better courses to visit locally, albeit for a little more money.

Hills and valleys.

Thought it was outstanding. Greens were good. Some tight holes early on, iron off the tee down the first five for me. Caught out on 5, plays along way up hill. Could do with hitting a draw off the tee here. Can do with moving it both ways around here. Little fade best on 16, if you hit it straight the left to right slope can help you. A draw is going to be tough to play down there, unless your maybe flying trees on the right and trying to get on or close to the green which is 270 away in a small secluded spot. Other holes like 11 a draw around the corner will cut down your approach. 8 is a great par 5, if you get away straight you have a blind second, green is downhill, through a gap and slightly to the left. You can go over some tree limbs on the left, ground slops from left to right slightly down the hill. 6 is a tough 5, probably hit into a valley after shot 2, then huge uphill 3rd of around 70 yards.

This course has improved a lot over the last year and is a real test of golfing ability considering it is council owned and dog walkers have right of way.

Queens Park is probably one of the best municipal courses in the country; a genuine test for any handicap with narrow fairways surrounded by mature woodland. Price wise is excellent value for money. The only downside is a plethora of dog walkers some of whom have no respect for the paying golfing public! Other than this an excellent course.

We played Queens park on a drizzly Sunday morning in July. Met by a friendly man in the pro-shop and got away early as there was no one out ahead of us. \The course opens up with a nice par 4 to ease you in then totally surprises you with a par 3 of only 125 yards that feels like you are playing off a cliff, talk about a drop! \This up and down is repeated around the course and it is a bit of a trek in places, but it adds to the round, making you choose your shots and plan ahead.\The last three holes are fairly easy going and a good place to make up a couple of strokes to bolster the card.\We encountered quite a few dog walkers but they stuck to the paths and majority of the time checked before crossing the fairways. This is public land so just be aware but most people are fine.We found the greens a bit slow but run true, the fairways were in generally good condition. Well worth a visit and very reasonably priced.

a good long course will suit the long hitter. the only thing the only thing i can say is that as a public course there are some dog walkers who think they can just walk the course

The course is in good condition, the puclic (dog walkers) are ok but the earphone plugged in cyclists and joggers are unware it's a golf course as they just keep running and don't look around.
A bit slow sometimes, they should remind golfers of slow play.
The staff are very nice and helpful.

Mixed reviews so wasn\'t expecting it to be so good! Each hole had character and a joy to play. Tees and fairways well tended and green excellent condition, maybe a little easy to read if only grumble. Loved every moment of this course. Only two slight issues, one being public space so the occasional dog walker will clearly have no regard to work with golfers, majority though exercise mutual consideration. The other is the bunkers have virtually no sand (surprising seeing as thou it\'s less than two miles from seafront - absolute pleasure and would definitely recommend and return again. Not to be missed!
