Old established course. Very good for Winter golf. Pretty good in Summer also. Being a public facility only downside are the occasional dog walkers who seem oblivious to us golfers.Reviewer Rating

Public course
Beware of ignorant walkers and dogs. Most are fine, others decide to wrestle and play football on the greens!Reviewer Rating

old school tester
still one of the most challenging and engaging courses around Bournemouth.although not the longest, even off the whites, it makes you think and tests all aspects of your game particularly 'between the ears'

Newly improved municipal course!
This is one of two municipal courses in Bournemouth which, while still a fine course, has always been in not so great condition over the years compared to Meyrick Park, its better kept neighbour. On this latest evidence though the course is definitely tidying up and in the best nick I've ever seen it. The greens look much better than they ever have done although are still not the finished article yet as they seem a little slow and uneven in places. Getting the visuals right is a good start though!
There are also some nice sections of wild flowers growing up and the rough seems to be a bit more imaginative and penal than it has previously been. After years of what I thought looked like neglect, someone looks like they've decided to restore it to former glories.
Despite the road noise from the busy adjacent A338 which always harms the feeling of tranquility that could otherwise be obtained, Queens Park has a lot of good holes (2nd, 5th, 6th, 8th 14th and 15th are all memorable for different reasons) and is a very decent municipal course that remains pretty cheap to play. Go and try it!

Great varied challenge.
Had a great round of golf but spoilt only by the dog walkers and odd group of non dog walkers out to use the course like a picnic area, some of whom were really abusive. Try Merrick Park if you want a to try a course nearby that isn't spoilt by these factors.(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 87 Handicap: 13.7)

Challenging public course
The course is very basic (public) but actually has some interesting holes and is quite hilly which represents a challenge for placement off the tee. Very good price for an easy/practice game(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 100 Handicap: 18.9)

I have been playing this golf course on and off for many years. However, I have to say that the course conditions today are the worst I have seen it.The fairways have always been bare, giving tight lies. Sadly, much of the grass has gone and weeds grown up.
The bunkers have always been shallow, now devoid of proper soft sand and filled with a combination of earth and sand mix with a spattering of small stones for good measure.
On to the greens. Usually the saving grace of this course, as only this summer they appeared well kept. They are now harshly cut, pock marked and possibly diseased fungal?
I don’t want to cast any aspersions, as this is a council course, could we be seeing the results of financial cuts. With respect, course maintenance does appear to be kept to the bare essentials and are obviously not the work of true green keepers.

The fairways have suffered during the summer and remain scrubby, and bunkers whilst having been improved in places are still poor. The greens however were not bad all things considered.
