What no Coffee
Course was in good condition, but some of the greens are poor (bare batches). At long last the Halway House has re-opened, but didn’t have any coffee or hot snacks readily available. However as a goodwill gesture we were not charged for our teas.

Two challenging courses.
Two great courses (the second course was 1.5 miles away), several holes with water and elevated greens surrounded by bunkers. Some long par 4's as well as dog legs which required precision. Courses were very hilly. Buggies at ?40.00 were expensive. All the staff were friendly and helpful but there weren't enough staff in the bar so getting a drink took a while. Room and food were lovely. Would come back again.Reviewer Rating

Loved it.
Excellent challenging course. With hindsight should have played off the orange tees. The yellow tees at times felt like playing off the white tees.Reviewer Rating

Championship course at 6500 yards off the yellow
Championship course at 6500 yards off the yellow is Open parkland tree course with a good design. Some undulating Greens. Fairways, bunkers & greens were in good condition for spring. The 1st cut was sticky & thick. For me as a short hitter I found it long but enjoyable. There’s a practise area putting green, chipping green, driving nets. Good pro-shop house. The only bad thing was price at the bar over £8 for paint of Peroni @ 7 Apr 2023Reviewer Rating

Portal premier course
Well I can honestly say I can't wait to try and play this course in the summer. Course was in good condition considering the time of the year. Hole 4 was cut very short, which we didn't realise so had to be played as a par 3 as opposed to a par 4. Other than that the course played well. Some interesting/challenging pin positions made for good fun when it came to nearest the pin.Reviewer Rating

Golf buddies on tour
The course is brilliant. For a high handicapper like me the fairways are very forgiving seeing as I have a tendency to slice of the tee. There are some long holes with challenging bunkers and I got to play in most of them which was fun and challenging too. I?d recommend this place and will be back, we played the championship course and it's long but very good. Great facilities for warm up putting and chipping, could do with somewhere to warm up the driverReviewer Rating

Played ‘the Premier’ on Sat 18th Nov, paid £30.There wasn’t much ‘Premier’ about it.
Don’t waste your money, course was an absolute shambles, it should of been shut. Was like playing in a mud bath.
Poorly stocked pro shop, and lack of course info pre Tee off.
Probably better in the summer but I won’t be back. Shame.

OK but wouldn't return
Stayed for 3 nights with 3 rounds of golf on championship and premier courses, hotel was decent and food good. Both course the tee boxes are shocking, uneven and like teeing up on poor fairways, the Premier course has the better layout with some nice holes but the greens were poor, the championship course was OK and greens abit better but even before the summer the greens and course was baked hard. Playing into greens was abit of a lottery with some strange bounces. All in all it was OK but I wouldn't return.Reviewer Rating

Played yesterday. Course was a shambles. The greens looked like bad fairways and the actual fairways looked like the rough.
