What the club says: Sandiway is frequently describe as the Wentworth of the north, and would not look out of place in the commuter belt of a leafy Surrey suburb.
Sandiway is widely regarded as one of the finest golf clubs and one of the highest quality inland golf courses in the north-west, with ambitions of increasing its status within the golfing world. Over the years Sandiway has been singled out to host International, National, Regional and Local Championships including qualifying events for the Open Championship, the Girls' British Open Championship, the PGA Club Professionals' Championship and a number of Cheshire and Northern County Championships. More recently in 2017 it hosted the qualifiers for the England Golf North section, Brabazon Trophy and PGA Lombard Trophy, confirming its standing and reputation within the top 100 courses in England.
Its fairways are generous, but tree-lined with mature oak, beech and birch; the classic inland course trees predominate, and the picturesque back nine offers unrivaled views of Petty Pool, an old Cheshire mere, which forms a stunning backcloth, particularly on the eleventh and twelfth holes, and a varied mixture of holes with no two holes the same! The greens, although small by modern standards, are of the quality expected on a championship course. Visitors, as a fourball, or indeed as a party in the form of a golf society or a corporate business group are always welcome. The course is complemented by a comfortable traditional clubhouse with modern facilities and a wide range of catering options prepared by our two outstanding chefs, including dining for up to 80. The club has a covered driving range with pitching and chipping greens, large putting green and a fully stocked professional shop boasting two award winning PGA Professionals.
The Sandiway experience offers you a unique opportunity to enjoy a rural slice (no pun intended) of Cheshire and a memory that will have you returning time after time.

Quality, even in autumnal conditions
Played on a Tuesday morning with a member, due to wet weather we were able to get out early 8:45-ish and were round as a three ball in under 3 and a half hours fairways were amazingly dry for the recent weather and greens were receptive though still quick and very true. Had looked forward to playing Sandiway for many years and was pleased that it met my expectations, now looking forward to a summer round.

Lovely Course
Never disappoints. Lovely fairways and a real challenge. Couple of boring par 3s that I ironically struggle the most on as they are between Gap / PW but otherwise excellent.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 85 Handicap: 10.6)

Top 5 courses in uk
Superb course was very tough conditions on the day but bare in mind the course was closed the day before due to flooding!!!Not a puddle in sight yesterday absolutely dry as a bone greens superb well worth the green fee
Up there with the best I've played

Great course condition for this time of year ????

Best inland course of North West?
Sandiway is an outstanding course. Every hole is different and very memorable. When you play for the first time, its the sort of place you’ll be able to recall every hole afterwards. It is a massive property - seems to meander through dense woodland for miles. By the time you are at the 14th Tee, you’re a long way from civilisation! The contour, shaping and elevation changes are stunning. Course is always immaculately presented. It drains like a links course and is hardly ever shut. In my opinion, this is the pick of the lot for inland North West courses.

Excellent course
Played Sandiway with my son as a surprise birthday present . Best course we have played this year . Unable to comment on practice area or food as we didn?t try them . Drinks good though.Hope to play again soon ????????

Quality Cheshire Woodland Course
Although it rained throughout our round, the course was in and stayed in excellent condition. Not a long course but really makes you think when playing numerous blind shots ....A must to play if your visiting the area.

Play the open comps
Played today in a 4 man team competition. Great value for £40 a man as the course was in excellent condition. We had a bacon sandwich on arrival and an excellent 2 course meal afterwards, the service was Superb. I will definitely be returning and can highly recommend this as a must play course.

ecovering From Hard Summer
A nice course but I am not sure it should be in the Top 100 (100th I think on Golf Monthly).Still recovering from summer so a lot of bare and uneven patches and unsure on some holes where the fairway started / finished. Hard to get a decent strike when the ball is sat on a sandy and damp bare patch. I have played here before and it has not been in such mediocre condition in parts. Greens were excellent though to be fair.
In terms of layout there are two holes that let the course down. The 6th and 13th that were playing 135 and 115 today and seem to be fillers. If they could improve these two holes I believe the course would be a lot better for it. Some really good holes though and the first is as good as an opening hole as you will find in the area. I will definitely be back though to see if some water over the autumn rejuvenates the fairways. Only other thing lacking was that we arrived at 9 for a 10 tee off and had to go to a local takeaway cafe for a sandwich and coffee as the clubhouse wasn't open.

Ok
Played on my travels and didnt rate it as much as some on here - nothing that stands out really and bit of a boring track

Best in Cheshire
Played this last Monday and found it to be in wonderful condition. Fairways were immaculate despite the dry weather and the greens were quick, firm and a treat to putt on.A warm welcome from the pro.shop and bar staff added to a great visit.
Strongly recommend a visit either as a 4ball or as part of a society.

Cheshire’s Finest
A stunning course with 18 individual holes. A must play for all golfers\( you will not be disappointed). A great course with fantastic facilities and staff second to none. Greens and fairways are a pleasure to play and present a challenge to all golfers. After your round retreat to the welcoming clubhouse and enjoy the excellent range of food and drinks. \

Best course in Cheshire!
Year in, year out this is the best course in Cheshire - challenging, yet fair, always in great condition, fantastic pro and clubhouse!

Top class course
My second time playing this friendly course on one of their open events. Always nice welcome in clubhouse and pro shop. Course in great nick despite recent wet weather, Greens good for time of year. Tough track with some testing holes, mixture of blind tee shots and dog legs keeps you on your toes. Nice finishing par 3 from elevated towards clubhouse, watch out for OOB on the right though. Great food to finish the day. Will play again for sure(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 76 Handicap: 6)

Absolute stunner
I have played Sandiway several times and always it is a complete joy to play. A course that has stood up well to the test of time and continues in my opinion to be one of the best in the North West. It is a gently hilly course with each hole being unique and with the longer holes having fairways that can give very undulating lies. Altogether a fantastic, challenging course to play. In the clubhouse afterwards the guest beer helped to wash down a very nice bacon and sausage bap.

What a course......
What a great course. There are 18 very different holes, with some real gems - especially the back 9 with views over the Petty pool. Greens are excellent, all the par 3's are very strong, you can see why a par 70 has an SS of 72. We had a really nice welcoming clubhouse and serve excellent food. The welcome from the pro shop is second to none. Superb practice facilities, it's well worth a visit either a green fee with friends, or one of the clubs Opens or even with a society! It's the sort of course you'll never forget, it's that good and you'll return time after time.

Some long and tough par 4's. Def like to go back.
