Played in an open Competition August 21st 2016 and have to say this is a must play course. Several blind shots that will make you want to come back and have another go, but if you follow the marker posts you wont go far wrong.\Challenging in terms of length on a wet and windy day, but fairways and bunkers excellent. Greens had been recently dressed but still true, and you can imagine them to be quite slick normally.Staff very friendly and I look forward to visiting again.

A brilliant course, very picturesque and quite a tough walk. Greens, fairways and rough all cut and very well presented. Bunkers excellent, well maintained and tidy, a credit to the green staff. Very welcoming too, from members to pro shop staff. A must play.

Round played on a wet and windy day, but course was still in great condition. Bunkers were brutal, lots of them and with very heavy sand, must've cost me 10 shots. Would definitely come back on a drier day.

I played in the Open her in March .I really was very very disappointed in how we were treated and the terrible state of the course. We were running late and tried to call the secretary at the club, he had diverted all of his calls to the pro shop and the poor bloke was run off his feet. When we arrived the secretary was serving drinks!! Why I do not know.
The course looked terrible and played worse. It looked like heavy machinery had been driving down the fairways and the whole course looked in dire need of some major repairs. I was given a flyer with the subs on it. £1150 for a year? They have got to be kidding that is major course fees not a course that looked and played awful. Bunkers were not raked properly, fairways had thatch all over them, tees - not one level.I agreed with my partners, probably the best course scenically but we come to play golf not take pictures. Pleasington looks like it has been resting on past glories and got an apprentice to look after the course to save money.
The catering was almost inedible, in fact we all left our food, not good

Unfortunately some winter tees and also fairway mats everywhere were in use for the round, i was informed about winter tees before arrival; on the day of booking, however i asked if the fairways were being played off mats and told that they were normal play ie no mats. when i arrived i was told that play from the fairway had to be from a portable mat, it would have been nice to be called up on the day if things had changed or at least a reduced green fee; neither of which occurred. Once i got to the tee there was a queue to tee off, i had been told when i paid my fee that i was hitting off after the guys at the tee had hit off. i asked them if they were running late as my tee time had passed during waiting for the party to tee off in succession of each other, however speaking to some people queuing behind me it was evident that the group of 9 had teed off before their tee times and pushed in front of me. i wouldn't normally be bothered about this but i was waiting about 5 minutes for every shot and the round took nearly 5 hours to complete, with no attempt from the groups in front allowing quicker players to play through. so these issues did dampen my enjoyment of the course. i did enjoy the course but felt that the management could be better to reduce slow play and hitting off at the correct times, there seemed to be a very small break between tee times which wasn't ideal. Views were nice from the course but i would say that a 30 pounds winter green fee was quite expensive for this course and a summer green fee would be too high for this course as there are more enjoyable courses not too far from this one and for less money. There were a few interesting holes but there could have been more signage to tell a first time visitor where to go especially when accessing the course over the railway. More safety bells would also be useful as there are quite a few blind holes;to reduce waiting times. pleasington is worth playing if you haven't before but i don't expect to return anytime soon.

Possibly the finest inland course in the North West. Friendly, helpful and very knowledgable staff that go the extra mile to please. The course is wonderfully quiet (apart from the odd train and the wildlife!), well positioned with its surroundings, well maintained and is devilishly tricky in places without being ridiculous. The scenery is epic and makes the walk between shots a pleasure.

We held our Society Captain\'s day here last Wednesday and were made very welcome by all the staff. This is one of the best courses in the County and you can see why when you play, a very fair test with some interesting holes Quality!!!. Now with a bridge over the railway it is much safer and fits in nicely. Would highly recommend. Great food too.
