hopefully new layout is better
Fully understand the course is undergoing a major layout change, but greens and tees that are stopping are in need of some TLC. Fairways need some weed treatment also (daisies everywhere). Can't see me and my mates playing the course again, even with the new layout. May have been better improving the existing course, rather than going to the extreme of new tees and greens(Round played: Apr 2019 - Score: 83 Handicap: 13.9)

Disappointing
Went with a mate that had been a couple years before and said it was a nice track. We both left very disappointed, and almost without playing. Guy in the pro-shop told us it was £36 each (web-site says £18) but then quickly added "I'll do 2 for 1 for you". Had we payed £36 each this would have been a far more harsh review!Bare patches on greens, I'm no greenkeeper but it was just bare soil so I doubt its any kind of disease. Loads of stones in bunkers, along with plenty of grass. Rough was just ridiculously long.
Not sure about the yardage on the card either, one par 3 stated 162 yards. At 6ft tall, I counted roughly 115 paces, and I reached with a wedge and a slight hand from the breeze.
I know they have had some problems with intruders on motorbikes and the like, but the course really didn't warrant £18 green fee. Won't be going again for sure.

Big changes
Some big changes to the course leaving some very short holes with some work to do on the greens. In the future it may be worth a return visit.
At a discount price not to bad, but wouldn't pay full price in its present condition.

Utterly Ruined
First time since last summer. Re-designed course and best of holes gone. Shortened by about 2000yds. This used to be a good long challenging course. Now it is just over T5000 yds and mediocre. Several temp Tees and greens, simply no longer worth visiting until all works are done in a couple of years. Spoke to several members who were not happy and was told many have left.

There seems to be some course changes taking place - new fences have taken 3 greens out of use so are on new temporary greens - does the owner realise it will take at least 12 months to fully develop a new green and surrounds.
Against this the clubhouse/hotel are good facilities.
Menbers I spoke to are very disgruntled with where their money is being spent!

Course has deteriorated badly in last few years and needs a lot of work to get it back to standard when it hosted a couple of tour events.
Inconsistent greens, poor drainage, ignorant ground staff, damage to a number of tee areas due to cutting too short with large cutter instead of lawn mower

The venue does let itself down in a number of ways:
No tee block information about the hole you are about to play (distance, image of the hole S.I. etc)
No rakes in any bunkers. You are invited to go to the pro shop and collect a rake to carry around the course and use as you go along
Poor or non-existent direction to the next hole in some cases
The biggest let down are the greens. Very hard, full of hollow tine holes, uneven and of varying pace. I know maintenance has to be done but some of the holes were so large you could easily fit a pencil into them.
Playing to a green involved pitching short and hoping that you get a good bounce on the fringe and the ball makes its way to and stops on the putting surface as hitting your ball straight onto the green resulted in it disappearing over the back edge.
You will not have a problem with un-repaired pitch marks here as it was virtually impossible to make one.
One to avoid.
