I was disappointed with this course, we hold a tournament between 12 guys from Yorkshire & Derbyshire every year, and this year it was held here, I booked through Golfbreaks and they were fantastic, just a shame the course was not as good

A pleasant course built in the shadow of the 18 hole Owston hall. Forgiving in the fairway width and the challenge to put on the below standard greens makes for a fun few hours.
Reccomended to people who are brand new to golf, or those getting rid of the rust. £6 for a round is worth the time spent there

Expensive for what you get. £20's a little steep when 5 holes are 'winter tees' Have played in the summer, much nicer course during warmer weather - some of the longer holes are very exposed to the elements. One or two interseting holes, but overall it's a course for big hitters.

Course was overall in good condition, stray from the fairway and you will find thick long grass, if you manage to find your ball its difficult to punch it out. Some T boxes are bit Iffy. Layout on some holes a bit strange, it appears course has been changed as garmin watch gives wrong distance!

Worth visiting

Course and venue is good. Worth playing the course. No sure if I would like to play there again. Green need a little more maintenance.

Very busy

Course was very busy on the Saturday we visited so queues had formed at the first tee and we were waiting at all 18 holes so the round took much longer than usual. Many of the fairways run very close to others so not great if you're not a very experienced golfer. Some bunkers were just about playable and some were unkept with compacted sand and/or full of weeds and should have been GUR.

Steady, simple course

Had a good couple of rounds on here, only gutted thing is they have changed the holes, so it doesn't marry up with golfshake score cards or your GPS watches. So my handi doesn't match to how we played. Needs sorting really. Found it a forgiving course, not many obstacles.

Venue for a three-round golf trip, Owston Hall is a relatively flat, parkland track with a decent selection of challenging holes combined with a number of straight-forward ones. Many of the greens are poor and need a bit of attention but overall it's a nice venue. One word of advice: don't leave your clubs unattended outside the hotel as we were warned that drive-by opportunists have been known to grab and go. Lock your gear away and head to the bar, which is a pleasant place for a post-round catch-up.

quite a short course some holes you walk further from green to tee than other way round not very well marked on tees or to next tee most greens were in good condition but 2 or 3 in need of some TLC. I disagree with paying £30 for a buggy and only £15 for a round of golf for me that is punishing the players that are less able to walk the course.Would recomend to players to walk

Nice hotel course, just needs a little more tic

When this course was designed in the 1990's it was built with hosting pro tournaments and stood at 7000 yards. The Euro pro played here quite a few times. Those times are gone. The course has been shortened to 6000 yards off the back tees. The course website boasts 4 tees, but reality is there are only 2 (whites and reds). The course has only 2 green keepers and it shows. The tees were untidy, the greens need work (albeit they ran true). This course could be so much better with investment but its an enjoyable track to wander around, over relatively flat land with some interesting holes. the long run penalises the very errant drive but the fairways are wide and open.

Decent course. No one behind us on a 2.30 tee off time so no real rush. Shame the bar was not open on the 19th lol.
