Played course in an open competition. It was the best conditioned course I have played so far this year and that includes some rather well regarded venues! Greens were superb, the welcome very friendly and facilities / food excellent. A good test of golf for players of all abilities and well worth a visit.

Played on 12/05/13. Course in really good nick and greens excellent for early in the season. The course is an interesting track with some excellent features nestled amongst the 300 year old Oaks. Front nine plays a bit easier than the back but all a very good golfing experience. Hospitality excellent with a great value deal which included an excellent two course meal afterwards.

Played on 21/07/12 and have got to say after all the rain that the course is beautiful, greens where firm and fast, very fast, didn't have a putt bobble all day, tee areas are flat and well mantained fairways stunning. A true test for all abilities and an enjoyable walk. 19th isn't to shabby, opened in 2010 the facility is up there with the very best, and the food/drink is not over priced like some courses. I am considering joining although it would mean a 70 mile round trip. If you've not played this little gem do so, you will not regret it.

The course is invariably in excellent condition and it is always a pleasure to play at Oswestry. You don't have to hit the ball miles however it is a thinking man's course where skilful management is rewarded. The course was designed by James Braid and is a thorough test of your golf game. A new clubhouse has recently opened and facilities and catering are excellent. Oswestry is a bit of a hidden gem and well worth discovering.

The course was in great condition, both fairwas and greens. It is a thinking golfers course where you need to navigate the undulating fairways and avoid the strategically placed bunkers. The course does not unduly punish if you go over piste a little. The stroke indexing was a little puzzling. The club house is nice and the people are friendly. All in all, a nice course to play.

This course just doesn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, it is a challenge, especially the opening 3 holes and most of the back 9 but it has no star quality about it. 3 out of the 4 par 3's are uphill so you cannot see the green which I absolutely hate. You don't come off this thinking of a memorable hole as there are no standout ones. They also need to review their stroke indexes as I can't see how the 18th is stroke index 18 and the stroke index 1 hole is a bog standard straight par 4. They are also in the process of building a new clubhouse so I was unable to try out the 19th.
