Home of Ian Woosnam, Llanymynech Golf Club is World Famous for playing two different countries on 1 hole! What the club says: Founded in 1933, Llanymynech Golf Club has expanded over the years from its original 9 holes to its present day 18 hole layout. The course boasts a unique claim to fame in that you can play one round of golf in two separate countries on the 4th hole you tee of in Wales and putt out in England. The 5th and 6th holes remain in England before you are cordially welcomed back into Wales on the 7th tee. Offa's Dyke also passes through the Golf Course.
'The Hill' as it is known locally, is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and was once the battle ground for Caracatus in AD 50 in his quest to rid the country of the Romans. The club is pleased to say that a much more gentle battle takes place on the hill these days in the form of a battle of wits between golfer and ball.

Gorgeous Course

There's a trickly narrow, hilly lane to actually get to/from the course, but once you're there you won't be disappointed with what's on offer.

The course has some wonderful holes, gorgeous views (cameras at the ready for when you get to the 12th tee), and in particular the back nine has some very intimidating tee shots. There are lots of tree lined fairways, and I also don't remember any especially easy par 3's. Be prepared to do some climbing though, as the course certainly isn't close to flat. It is worth the effort though.

It seemed a little weird using the driving range as part of the 18th fairway, but it's a small range so maybe it doesn't get used much.

Overall, I can't speak highly enough about the course.

A little dissappointed

This course had been highly recommended by good players i know. Course seemed a little run-down and in need of some TLC

Visited with 3 friends 24 June 2022. Course was in very good condition. Fairways and tees were excellent. Greens were true but not overly quick. Bunkers, I found 2, were very good with the right amount, and type of sand, in them. Clubhouse was very friendly and there was a good choice at thd bar.
Definitely one that we will revisit.

It is a glorious location. Lovely friendly club house and pro shop. Course was in in very good condition. However the greens had been sanded and the pro very kindly said, without prompting, that he would give us a half price voucher. And the views are stunning.

This course is a real gem. The novelty of playing in two different countries is nice but the course itself is outstanding. The combination of holes is great. It has everything, elevated tees, greens cut into the side of the hill, sweeping lush green faith fairways, amazing views for miles around. Course was in immaculate condition and was a pleasure to play. Bargain at only £25. I would join this course of it was closer to home.

Mr Grumpy

An excellent course, but cripplingly over subscribed & far too welcoming to all and sundry. Expect a long round; or if a member (as I am) resigned to 18 holes after 5 in the afternoon or before 8 in the morning. Hmmm
