Llanymynech Golf Club, Shropshire is an 18 hole, par 70 (6036 yard), private, parkland golf course established in 1933. Home of Ian Woosnam, Llanymynech Golf Club is World Famous for playing two different countries on 1 hole! What the club says: Founded in 1933, Llanymynech Golf Club has expanded over the years from its original 9 holes to its present day 18 hole layout. The course boasts a unique claim to fame in that you can play one round of golf in two separate countries on the 4th hole you tee of in Wales and putt out in England. The 5th and 6th holes remain in England before you are cordially welcomed back into Wales on the 7th tee. Offa's Dyke also passes through the Golf Course.
'The Hill' as it is known locally, is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and was once the battle ground for Caracatus in AD 50 in his quest to rid the country of the Romans. The club is pleased to say that a much more gentle battle takes place on the hill these days in the form of a battle of wits between golfer and ball.

Perfect

Reasonably priced, welcoming, lovely breakfast so a great start to our society day. Then it got even better when we got out on the course. Varied holes, interesting layout and some spectacular views. Greens and fairways in great nick. Amazing place.

Played Llanymynech as a 2 ball which is the 4th time played in the last couple of years.
Course as before was in terrific condition- greens cut low and greens lovely - pacy as always.
At ?26 a round (Monday deal so tee off 10:10) really hard to beat the value.

Hidden Gem that needs to be shouted about.
Played on New Years Eve after a friend?s recommendation . Ridiculous Value at ?25 inc a festive Bap and Chips which were awesome and very much required after ?challenging? weather conditions.Course is lovely ,memorable holes and stunning views which must be even better in Summer.
We were advised by Tom in Pro shop of 2 holes closure and offered to play a further 2 holes to make up the 18-It wasn't required as we all wanted to demolish the festive bap!
Can't wait to return.

Great Location

Llanymynech is a gem of a course situated up on the hills bordering England & Wales. In fact on one hole you tee off in Wales and putt out in England. The views are stunning. The course itself is also very good with every hole having something different about it. And to top it off, everyone is very friendly. Thoroughly recommend it.

Gorgeous Course

There's a trickly narrow, hilly lane to actually get to/from the course, but once you're there you won't be disappointed with what's on offer.

The course has some wonderful holes, gorgeous views (cameras at the ready for when you get to the 12th tee), and in particular the back nine has some very intimidating tee shots. There are lots of tree lined fairways, and I also don't remember any especially easy par 3's. Be prepared to do some climbing though, as the course certainly isn't close to flat. It is worth the effort though.

It seemed a little weird using the driving range as part of the 18th fairway, but it's a small range so maybe it doesn't get used much.

Overall, I can't speak highly enough about the course.

Visited with 3 friends 24 June 2022. Course was in very good condition. Fairways and tees were excellent. Greens were true but not overly quick. Bunkers, I found 2, were very good with the right amount, and type of sand, in them. Clubhouse was very friendly and there was a good choice at thd bar.
Definitely one that we will revisit.

It is a glorious location. Lovely friendly club house and pro shop. Course was in in very good condition. However the greens had been sanded and the pro very kindly said, without prompting, that he would give us a half price voucher. And the views are stunning.
