For my money, one of the best courses in the land and my personal favourite. Fantastic collection of holes with a great variety across an undulating course. Greens were phenomenal as was the rest of the course. Members, Pro and all staff very welcoming and the food was good too. Cannot rate highly enough - pay it a visit you won't be disappointed

Quality and Variation

I visited the course for a University golf day. (Liverpool Vs Birmingham) We played a 9 hole warm up and after lunch played the full 18 holes. I found the course in great condition. It has a variety of interesting holes ranging from visible par 3s to blind (from the Tee) par 4s and 5s. The course is physically challenging as it is very hilly. There are buggies for hire but I would advise to book these in advance. Most of the course is in Wales but the border with England runs through the NE corner of the course. In actual fact on the 4th you can Tee off in Wales and put in England. Perhaps the most notable aspect is the views from the later holes / Tee positions. The course is at quite a height and at one point there is a full panoramic which I'm told takes in 5 counties. Well worth a visit.

(Round played: May 2015 - Score: 110 Handicap: 25.5)A very tough course. Unique in that it has some holes in England but the clubhouse and majority of them are in Wales. It is situated on a bluff but still has changes of elevation and valleys. The weather closed in on us during the day so we had sun, rain, hailstones and wind. This made the course even tougher!
The course was in good nick but blind shots and the lack of course planners means you may have to play it a few times to appreciate it.
The clubhouse is quaint and changing rooms are small

Played in Open in May 2013 - on arrival the course pro told us te club had a problem with greens we expected the worst ..... The greens were great, there standards must be really high !!

The golf course is 1st class , everyone associated with the golf club was first class cant reccomend this golf course highly enough !! What i will say is it aint for the faint hearted !!! The wind can get up really strong - if you walk off with a good score , youve earned it !!!!

Very good

Great course well worth the visit. The 18th one had to drive a carry over the practice ground ,if it fell short then finding your ball amongst the practice balls not good.
The views out way the 18th.

excellent local course with challenges

been a member here for 6 months and love it! Greens are well kept and there are a series of left to right / right to left slopes that keep each hole interesting. relatively novice golfer but I enjoy every round and always made to feel welcome.

Llanymynech G.C

We visited here less than 24 hours after a bout of very heavy and prolonged rain, but the course was in great condition, with no water logging. The tees, fairways and greens were in excellent condition, the greens were surprisingly fast. The clubhouse, although dated, was stocked with a good choice of drinks and the staff were friendly. We didn't eat, so can't comment on that. It is quite a hilly course in places, but the stunning views are worth it.

Great golf course with spectacular views. A couple of "ordinary holes" but still great. Punished if you go offline ( 6 balls down today)
Staff excellent and friendly. Will be going back.

Always a joy to play Llanymynech, guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Lovely sculptured holes across the hilltop. Not the longest course but you seldom can give your driver a rip. A course that really makes you think whilst you are distracted by the marvellous views from the course. Will return again.

Great Course, Fantastic Views

A group of 15 played this course and it was a very enjoyable day, the course was in good condition, Greens a bit bumpy from the recent maintenance but still rolled well, staff were very good and bacon rolls on arrival and the one course meal also excellent. The View from the 12th Tee will be hard to beat anywhere in the UK!
